The Attack has Precision Strike and a Critical Hit was rolled.
Character B Has Impervious and rolls a 6.
This is where things make a turn for the worse. A disagreement.
I believe under these circumstances Only 1 damage will be dealt to Character B, because all but 1 damage is reduced to 0 thanks to Impervious and Precision strike.
The other player and others believes. Critical Hit damage is added to Precision strikes effect and instead 2 damage is dealt.
I am confused to their reasoning. They tried to explain it but I fail to understand it.
They said critical hit adds 1 damage to damage dealt and "damage dealt" means after reducers. I think that was their reasoning of it. I am still not quite sure If I fully understand them.
I told them in the rulebook when damage is dealt you take all game effects add it together for the total of the damage, then the character either reduces or ignores the damage and/or applies another game effect if possible.
whats the rule with critical hits? Is damage from critical hits and modifiers/etc added together then dealt at the same time or is base damage done and after reducers/etc crit damage is added to the result?(I don't understand their reasoning.)

2014 Rulebook, Page 10: "A critical hit increases damage dealt by 1 to each successfully hit target."
2014 Rulebook, also Page 10: "Unless specified otherwise, effects that would increase damage dealt are calculated before effects that would decrease damage dealt."
Since a critical hit increases the damage dealt, it would be applied before Impervious.
Precision Strike, on the other hand, does not modify the damage dealt. It limits how other powers can modify the damage dealt. 2014 PAC: "When this character makes an attack, it can’t be evaded, and the damage dealt can’t be reduced below 1 or transferred."

Long story short, you were right.

Thanks for the reply. It wouldn't have affected the games outcome by much but I prefer games to be played the correct way.
