I have searched everywhere for days, and I understand what wild cards are, how to play wildcards. but what I cant find anywhere is.. Which pieces are wild cards and how to determine that they are. Its great that Deathstroke 020 is a wild card. But how do we know this? I dont see key words, I dont see anything listed that says this piece is a wild card. I have found forums, articles, all explaining why they're great, what they do. But no where can I find a simple way of telling who is a wild card. If anyone can help me with this i'd appreciate it. Still quite the newbie and some things just evade me.

Thank you, but that does not answer my question. Lets say I purchase a piece. It comes with the piece on its dial. It comes with the card. Where does it say wildcard or show me its a wild card piece.
Are you telling me that any piece that has a team ability is a wild card? Thats what I"m trying to understand.

Certain team abilities make the character a wild card. If a character has a team ability it will be shown in the bottom right of its character card. To find out what each team ability does either use the internet or i believe there is a section in the rulebook.

Then click on the links to "DC Team Abilities" and "Marvel Team Abilities" respectively. There'll you see a list showing the different Team Abilities look like on the dial, and what their effects are.

Wildcard Team Abilities are:

DC: Legion of Superheroes and Calculator

Marvel: Spider-Man and Minions of Doom

Indy: Freedom Phalanx, B.P.R.D and Snowfall

Outside of the team abilities, a handful of characters get traits that give them wild card abilities.

I think people fail to understand that for us new players, there is so much information running through our heads that even pointing me to that list the answer isnt obvious. Thank you for not only pointing me, but slapping me in the head with the info.

Not sure how you can say you understand what a wildcard is when you clearly do not. There are certain Team Abilities that are Wildcards (Spider-Man, Minions of Doom, Calulator, Legion of Superheroes and the occasional piece that has the ability as a trait.)

They do not directly provide the Team Ability rules to players. So it's pretty unreasonable to get on a guy's case for not knowing what each team ability does.

Say he bought a starter pack. He gets a rule book and a PAC. but no team ability rules. You have to dig through the website to find those. They are core rules to the game but are never provided, even in a starter pack.

It's easy to understand what a wildcard is while not understanding they left basic game rules (team abilities) out of the rule book, power card, and character card.
