last night my friends and I were playing and I had annihilus make a running shot on apocalpse that ended with annihilus being in base to base contact with apoc. My friends said I can not do that because ranged combat attacks can not be done inb base to base contact but I thought if it is 2 fliers or one flier and one grounded it is allowed? who was right? Just so you know the reason for doing that was because annihilus was carrying the son of darkseid who was then going to 7 more damage.

FAQ, Hovering
A hovering character that is adjacent to an opposing character may make a ranged-combat attack, but only against the adjacent character.
Grounded characters may perform ranged-combat actions against adjacent hovering characters, but only if they are not also adjacent to any opposing grounded characters.
You were fine.
But bobo has a point. You could stop Annihilus non-adjacent but still drop Superman right next to your enemy, avoiding the problem if you really needed to stop the argument.
All of that is completely legal according to all of the rules in Running Shot. In this case, Apoc would take 2 from Anny's running shot, and Juggs takes 7 from Supes. Completely legal from start to finish from the information given.
cool, I didn't fight with them I jst didn't do it but later the same thing came up with a flier and a grounded figure and got me really mad cuz they wanted that to be ok and what I did not ok.
