Note that click #5 have ES/D and CR... but to use it, you give the figure with it equipped a free action to choose one of the two, then roll at the end of your turn. Call me nuts, but unless you're lucky enough to get 2 5s in a row, won't that be a useless click?
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

I don't think two 5's will make it more useful, either.
There's nothing there about choosing a new power when you turn the dial, nor is there anything ever allowing the use of those powers on any turn aside from yours.
It's not completely useless, though. There are corner cases such as times when you may be wanting to EE someone with your guy there, too.
That won't matter the character can only use the power this turn and the next turn won't begin until the end of turn phase is over.
That was my thought, too... there's no real way around it as you do the free action, then roll.

Also my first thought... maybe they are changing the verbiage on "turn" so the Cuckoos won't be quite as bad (although all my luck, it won't change them anyway), but I'd bank more on an errata because they didn't play test well enough or bring it to someone experienced with the game.

That would almost be worse as it would only work on the other players turn if you're first player. If you're the second player it wouldn't work be different than it is now.
Either it's just intended to work in your own turn to avoid taking collateral damage from stuff like EE. Or it was originally meant to last until your next turn but got changed late in development and they overlooked those powers.
Now I don't know that much about this set so I don't know if there is some characters in it that can attack during an opponents turn. That could also factor in on this specific design.
Simple: Wizkids doesn't know how to play Heroclix.
Ultraman's trait is nearly useless except in extremely rare cases
Many years ago a notable Heroclix lead designer was making the rounds at Coming of Starro Tournaments across our fine land, and he would graciously take time for a Q and A after the event.
I offhandedly asked him (in front of about 40 players) how often he gets to play Heroclix. He said he didn't. He didn't have time because he was so busy working on designing Heroclix.
I often reflect on this. Mostly because Wizkids keeps giving me reasons to.
Give Spidey a FIRE FLOWER! Put a TANOOKI SUIT on Batman! Make your Blood Brother a HAMMER BROTHER!

Both quoted for the sad truth. They know the basics about the game, but they don't consult those "rules lawyers" who are very experienced in the game to make sure they are written right (no obvious loopholes) and can't be easily exploited (eg. Tellus).
I've heard it said multiple times that Magic utilizes past national/world winners for new sets, rotates between winners, and each has an NDC so they can't tell anyone about the set... it wouldn't be hard to do that with Clix, either (and easier to cover up the characters themselves while giving the trait/power information without names/titles).

Assuming NDCs, who is to say they DON'T do this already?

The poor wording on so many figures and the number of simple erratas that they've had to make over the last several sets?

Again, assuming NDCs, that proves nothing. For all we know, there were many MORE issues that were caught.
Or maybe they just put a bunch of words on a dartboard, throw a handful, and there's your new game effect.
Speculation, while sometimes very fun, doesn't equal facts.
At least one former champion (Ben Cheung, he of "Ben-Crawler" fame) is mentioned in the rule books credits. Now what exactly his role is, they don't say, but it's probably not "floral arrangement" or "key grip".
