Day 57: Very early morning. On a replicated Earth in an alternate universe where heroes and villains from several realities are being relocated to coexist, primarily from the Marvel and DC realities.

Dick Grayson was feeling the pressure. Batman and the majority of the Bat family had been missing for months while he was left to cope with many of Gotham City's villains almost by himself. Primarily the threat of the Joker.

Alfred was still with him, though he had disappeared temporarily and joined Batman for a short while before being sent back. So Dick knew what had happened to the missing heroes and villains but nobody could do anything about it. Only Roy Harper and Donna Troy were left of his fellow Teen Titans and the Justice League was reduced to just the Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow and Black Canary.

The Gotham City populous had all but disappeared. Gotham City itself was in a state of chaos, cordoned off by the U.S. Government, Just like Metropolis, Central City and almost all the cities that had superheroes based in them.

Dick was afraid that he would be taken soon and the Joker would have no one to oppose him.

The Joker was in custody; for now, as were the Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc and the Mad Hatter. Some others were at large though. Catwoman was out of town.

He decided to go home to sleep as it was 2 A.M. and everything was quiet.

Talia Al Ghul woke up abruptly. She was in a strange bed! Why was she in a strange bed? Slightly disoriented and unusually groggy she got up and looked around. Her clothes and weapons were on a nearby table. She appeared to be in some kind of college dorm room.

How had she gotten here? She dressed quickly and stepped out of the room.

Dick Grayson woke up. Suddenly. He wasn't in Wayne manor any more.

He was in the top bunk of a dorm room. What the? Nevermind. It was what he'd feared. He'd been taken obviously. He jumped down out of the bunkbed.

His Nightwing gear was on the table nearby. He dressed quickly and decided to slip out the window rather then risk being seen by any dorm residents.
No one seemed to be around and he easily dropped down out of his second story window and looked around.

There was a gate a hundred yards away and the gate had a sign that he could only see the back of. He sprinted over to see what the sign said.

When he got there he read "Welcome to Miskatonic University."

He was in Massachusetts?

Talia crept through the dorm carefully. It was actually a girls sorority. A Delta Gamma branch.

Talia moved downstairs to find the exit and leave. She had encountered no one.


She was moving through the dayroom when the television came on and the face of a horribly disfigured man in a brown fedora and a striped red and green sweater leered out at her brandishing a wicked looking clawed glove on his left hand as he beckoned her to approach the television.

Talia was repulsed and took out her gun and shot the television.

After she shot the television, Talia ran out of the house and outside. She was met by two children jumping rope who Said in a sing song voice "Freddy's coming to get you!"

Despite her self, Talia was feeling a sense of dread, as the little girls seemed very eerie.

She looked back at the sorority door and saw the door seemed to slam shut.

Suddenly she sensed something at her feet.

Two clawed hands thrust out of the ground and grabbed Talia's ankles.
Talia slashed the hands with her sword but not before they had severely injured her ankles.

She shrieked and fell to the ground.

Nightwing heard Talia's shriek and rushed to see what was happening.

He found Talia on the ground trying to staunch the bleeding from her ankles.

"What happened?"

Talia told him.

He immediately pulled his first aid kit out of his utility belt and bandaged her wounds.

Something about this didn't seem right.

Freddy Krueger was not in his usual haunts yet he had power wherever he was.

There was great eldritch energy here.

He had two victims nearby. Were they superheroes? Whatever they were. They were two victims he could toy with.

After Nightwing finished, Talia could stand but it was painful.

They compared notes. Both had found themselves here against their will and both concluded that they had just experienced the same fate that Batman and very likely Rha's Al Ghul had experienced, among others.

Nightwing looked at Talia.

"What's wrong with this picture."

"What do you mean?"

"Doesn't this all feel a little off to you?"

Talia thought about it. She looked around for the little girls. They were nowhere to be seen. As if they had vanished.

"I suppose so. What are you getting at?"

"I think this is a dream"

"What? Why?"

"Because I had gone to sleep before I found myself here. I think I'm still asleep and I think you are to. I think we're sharing a dream."

As Nightwing finished speaking. Freddy Krueger appeared and was laughing at them. Then he launched both of his gloves at them. One for Nightwing and one for Talia.

Nightwing reacted instantly. Knowing that Talia's wounds made her vulnerable, he grabbed Talia and dodged the gloves.

Freddy tsked and disappeared.

Nightwing shouted at Talia. "Talia, we have to wake up. This guy is in our dreams!"

Talia looked at him and asked "How do you know that?"

But Nightwing had forced himself awake already and dissolved in front of her.

Dick opened his eyes. He understood the nature of that Freddy creature and he leaped out of bed.

He was still in that dorm room but this time he knew he was awake. He had little time to lose. He had to find Talia and force her to wake up.

Not bothering to dress he grabbed his utility belt and jumped and ran to the nearby sorority to force Talia to wake up.

Talia blinked. Nightwing had just faded away in front of her. Was she dreaming? The pain in her ankles was real, if muted by the bandages.

She looked around in a slight panic. She was alone again. Alone with that murderous maniac. Normally a supremely confident woman, Talia Al Ghul, daughter and heir to the great R'has Al Ghul was being harassed by a bogeyman. She didn't like it and determined to fight back.

Nightwing found the sorority easily enough, but now he had to find which room Talia was sleeping in, If she hadn't forced herself awake yet.

His experiences with the Titans and the supernatural of Trigon convinced him that the threat was very real and Talia could die in her sleep. He was feeling a sense of urgency.
He began frantically throwing doors open.

Luckily, school was not in session and most of the sorority members were absent.
