The community came together, we rallied , we petitioned, we complained ... and WizKids listened to us and put forth a solution that allows the barrier to entry to stay low ... but the competition level to still favor those that know their opponent's dial (just never better than them). Thanks!
Well, it's better than it was. WK's not known for listening, and I doubt they would have if the response wasn't so overwhelmingly negative and clearly going to cost them a huge portion of the customer base.
I dunno about "won" but it's compromise. If someone cheats by looking at the back of other players' cards, they'd better see some punitive action for it.

It feels so stupid being so happy about this, but let's face it: For those opposing the original change, this is a serious victory for players and the game.
It showed that Wizkids does listen, to whatever extent, and I can't think of a time that a company has ever made such a dramatic turnaround. It is, quite simply, awesome. I've thanked Wizkids in one or two other threads, but again, a sincere THANK YOU!
I don't mind that the dials are on the cards... It's not my favorite thing ever, but if that's the compromise we get, I can definitely live with it. Because the alternative was so damn discouraging.

Or just pay $7 and buy card sleeves and sleeve all of your cards to make it impossible for them to view it. Then you can slide it out to view.

Clever, inexpensive and probably good for the cards in any case. HeroClix: The Gathering!
that actually made me lol!! my friend and i had sleeves anyway because we used to play a way where we needed them. this just makes me happy to have them. now my spider-man set isn't ruined, YAY!!
@antonio.clark.art is my instagram.take a look and tell me what you think....be blessed!!!
Still dumb. Even if the owner is the only one that has access to the dial I feel this encourages turtling and hiding more because you still can see where you are on the dial. There are so many similar teams played anyhow that you will still basically have access to your opponents dial it will just be from the back of your card.
I would prefer gatefold cards with the dial in the middle. That way we dont have such a space crunch.
And tournament rules that say the back must be covered.
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark
