I just came up with a random team idea for a 300 point team sort of based around mind control and making sure your opponents stay within your line of fire, can't move , and/or are close to you from having to many tokens and not being able to move, so you can be as aggressive as possible with Hawkeye ( 3 targets and can have a lot of attack power/damage) as possible on them, I am very new to this game and was wondering if this team could do decent in the current meta or in casual play.
Team Members:
1. Universo, Superman and The Legion of Superheroes, 71 points.
2. Leash, Teen Titans, 75 points.
3. Destiny, X-Men Days of Future Past, 50 points.
4.Hawkeye, Avengers Age of Ultron, 94 points.
Point Total: 290
I don't think it would do much in meta, but that depends a lot on the player. It would do well in casual, although I'd rather use greed in universo's place and put his relic on Hawkeye.
FL Turtle would be a nice addition to an MC-centric team. You MC oppossing fig/s have them move 5 squares or more to take the penalty from Turtle in addition to what you make them do. JLTW Greed (above suggestion) with Doc Oct Arms (in casual games) is a great combo with Turtle, Greed penalize MCed figures that moved adjacent to him. What I do is have Turtle Outwit Indom/Will Power, Greed MC and have figure move adjacent to him and gets 1 or 2 tokens which results in a Push, then apply Turtle's penalty for another penetrating damage. If you can pull it off succesfully, your opponent will be clearing tokens than taking actions.
And if you want some sadistic playing... put a Red Sniper Rifle on Greed with the Red PB for the added range and penetrating Poison.
If you want to really surprise an opponent, add the special object t2tS102 Palantir to your force
Have a figure with long range and a high attack value (preferably one not very expensive points-wise) pick it up, and you can use it to bring opposing forces from behind blocking terrain into Hawkeye's line of fire.
This allows a non-MC figure to suddenly start MCing your opponent -- through blocking terrain -- and causing your opponent to go stand out in the open so he can be shot by Hawkeye.
If you win map choice, pick a map with lots of tight contained spaces (Sinister prison, that sort of map).
Just thought of a Mind Control team featuring Poison Ivy:
90 pts WF007b Poison Ivy
60 pts FL034 Amanda Waller (Chooses Poison Ivy as Special recruit)
75 pts FFFL003 Mirror Master
75 pts FFFL006 Pied Piper
300 pts Total
Mirror Master can carry the whole team since he shares Keywords with everyone (thanks to Special recruit) and can therefore enable good positioning while backing up the team with PC. The Wall can lower opponents DV thanks to Police TA and is a good Outwitter as well. Pied Piper can pop a horde of rats (outstanding when combined with Suicide Squad TA), is a Calculator, Perlpexer and an able Mind controller as well. Poison Ivy is the main Mind Controller. For higher builds, you can even add FL029 Fiddler (an excellent Mind Controller in his own right) and some ID cards or, why not, assign him the Rock of Eternity with 6 sins.
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn... don't worry guys... that's just the way I sneeze...
