Lydea Mallor and JL Teleport/Avenger's Round Table
If my opponent is playing Lydea and I am using either teleport or round table, will Lydea get to remove my card before or after I have assigned my sideline characters to be ID characters?

THE GROWING DARKNESS: At the beginning of the game for all friendly characters with this trait, you may remove one attached game element from an opponent's resource and, if it is a relic, assign it to a character with this trait. At the beginning of your turn, roll 2d6 for all friendly characters with this trait. If the result is lower than the sum total of all of these characters' click numbers, then modify all opposing characters' combat values by -1 until your next turn.

Setup - At the beginning of the game, choose a character on your sideline with a name or real name matching this ID Card and turn it to a starting line. This character is called an ID Character. You can't have more ID characters on your force than you have characters placed on the map at the beginning of the game. This card is Unique.
Does it work much like the lantern batteries where if the Lydea player is 1st, their beginning of game effects happen first?

BEGINNING OF GAME
[C]The “beginning of the game” phase occurs after all game elements have been placed on the map for game setup, but before the first player takes their first turn. The player chosen as first player resolves all of their “beginning of game” effects first. That player must resolve all of their “beginning of game” effects before the next player resolves all of their “beginning of game” effects.

Per the wording, the choice happens after Lydea if you go second, before Lydea if you go first. But if Lydea goes first and takes an ID card, I'm not sure you would still choose a character.

Per what Bertie posted, yes, Lydea's beginning of game effects happens first.
But per what he posted, it also no longer matters. Everything goes on the map so Lydea will always be able to strip your resource if she wants.
Note: She won't be able to use the ID card as it's not a relic. So it's just an instant 5 point score.

I'm asking in the case of multiple SHIELD ID cards. It sounds like if I let her go first, she can still take one card but leave me the choice of which remaining Shield figure I'd like to make my ID character.

You can't play multiple SHIELD ID cards on the Teleporter/Round Table (if they're the same level; you can play a level 1 and level 7). Ruling Link
But yes, if you had a SHIELD figure that qualified for both, you could still choose even if she stripped one card as long as you go second. If you go first, you would have to choose and lose access to that figure if she took the card away.
