So I'm kind of tired of never being able to find one App that actually covers everything I want it to do. So with that in mind, I've decided to build my own, since I already do it for a living why not do it for myself and hopefully the community...
So my question to everyone is this, if there was an App for collectors and players of Heroclix, what would you like the App to do?
So far suggested functionality includes:
Line of fire utility
Power Interaction
General Rules
PAC
Team Abilities
Compiled Errata
Collection Inventory
Team Building
In-Game Clix Tracking (for your team)
Virtual Dice
Find a Game
For the Collection Inventory, the idea of a photo recognition of the set icon and number from the base, would certainly be a possibility, but I'd like to get the more basic stuff in first.
I really like the idea of the "Find a Game" feature, this will definitely be making it into the App. Where I am it's really hard to find other players, so this would be very nice.

Reason: Update with ideas so far
The best thing I was ever able to do with my iPod for Heroclix was install a PDF Reader, then turn anything I needed into a PDF. Bonus points if there was already a PDF available that I could use.
Stuff that would be handy in an App:
-Line of Fire Utility
-Power Interaction
-General Rules
-Compiled Figure Errata (Watch List and whatnot)
"It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak." "Prove you have the strength and courage to be free."
LoF utility like MopedKid suggested would be great. Something where you could enter or drag your finger; 5 five squares across and 4 squares down, shows all the squares the LoF passes through. I know these types of tools exist but having an App to do it every time would be nice!
I also thought inventory options could be cool too. Maybe you can take a photo of the figure's set number and set icon and the app would automatically add figure to your personal inventory. Quick and easy with fewer mistakes than manually using other inventroy systems.
a heroclix game (even an app version) would be great, but you won't be able to make one. Copyright laws and all
As much as I would love to make an actual HeroClix Game App, I sadly don't have that kind of time, I was thinking more of an Utility/Companion/Helper App.
As people suggest things I'll update the main post with the features are where they will lay with the outlook for the project.
I thought of some more although maybe just variations of the above.
The rules should be rules, PAC and team abilities all together. Currently I have to go to separate places for those things.
Also may a random number generator, ie virtual dice. Of course who doesn't have dice with their figures but why not have that functionality. I would love a d8 type generator to determine scatter of dropped items (haven't gotten around to buying an actual d8 yet - we use an app for that when required)
"Looking for game" feature. Basically, says you are looking to play a game, and live in this general area. Allow you to message other people in the area with the Ap
Main thing I would like in an app is that it runs ios5 my iPad is so old
Good luck anyway maybe I'll have upgraded by the time it's ready. Re the line of fire tool what would i think be be useful would be if you could use it to post examples here on the realms so people didn't have to do those

Type diagrams when asking for advice , they're sometimes difficult to visualise. That may be something to consider as an add on later on when you have the main app down pat.
Sorry guys I have been working on this but with work and data enter for the rule book and PAC it's been taking while, but I am getting there.
With regarding to a LOS tool, how would people envision this working?
I like the idea of a checkerboard. Maybe the display only starts with a 4x4 or 5x5 grid but it would expand left/right or up/down if your finger touched the edge of the grid. You would count the squares on the map in reality: 6 across and 2 down. Then on the app, you place your finger in upper left corner of grid and drag your finger 6 across; square would light up as you did this. Then drag your finger two down and release. The squares that are involved in LoF are highlighted. It would also help if the app let you start in any corner of the grid since sometimes the mirror images mess with your head.
