Is Brood considered a replacement character for the Brood egg?
Turn 1: Brood Queen takes a power action places the egg.
Turn 2: Brood Queen sidesteps carrying the egg before any non-free actions take place. Egg hatches.
Is the Brood considered to have been carried and thus not allowed to take a non-free action this turn?
I know that having been carried or not is an effect that normally carries over to replacement characters
But every example of replacement I can think to check (Merge, promote, shifting focus) specifically uses the term "replace," whereas the Brood Egg does not. So if it works the way I think it does then it doesn't count as replacement and the Brood is still free to act that turn
This is not a replacement. It is more similar to some of the KO-then-place effects we've seen. While the egg isn't KOd in this case, you do remove it and reattach it.
Of course, WIN could always rule differently. I suspect not, though.

I'd agree with this interpretation barring a different ruling of course.
I had a question. If someone KO's the egg is it removed from the game forever? Or does it get reattached next turn even if KOed?
I would have thought removed from the game, I can't see anything on the queen or the egg that would indicate it reattaches to the queen unless there is a ruling that I've missed on wes/win.

"At the beginning of your turn, reattach this to Brood Queen"
But I'm guessing once KOed. The trait is no longer active. It really reigns in the power of these things though, since that egg is really easy to dispose of.

All rules aside it really doesn't make sense that a brood queen can't lay anymore eggs because one died. If something happened to her to prevent that, fine. But she should always be able to make an egg. In the hopes of getting a stronger piece maybe we should question the intent of the power?

Maybe the destruction of the egg sends out pheromones to the "fertilizer" drones and makes them scurry off into hiding. Thus ending the egg production from the queen.

Fertilizer drone! That's it! The 7th chase from this set. That's what I'm missing. Because UXM likes taking the good super rares, primes and chases, and making you require something else to use them to their full. And I said I'd never make a whiny post on here. Well now I'm done.

It should at least modify its defense for being adjacent to brood or brood queen.

From someone who's already played the Brood and Brood Queens several times, trust me, they're plenty strong.

You only think your done, whining about wizkids is a bit like having spots you think it's cleared up and then when your least expecting it you have another outbreak.

I'm excited to play them. I have tried asking on the Wizkids rules form, but they wont approve my post. It makes a difference for exploiting some other strategies outside of just a Brood Queen/Brood team. It would seem you could only attach if they were on the map, seeing as how the 30pt Brood replacement and the reattachment of the Brood Egg takes place in one move. No square to place Brood in, no square to remove Egg from, so no reattachment.
How do keywords work with the Egg. Does it get the keywords From the Queen since they are both on "one card," or are the two cards separate technically. Because it technically does not say "Brood Egg" any where that looks like an Official Character Name on the card itself. My main question is: can I use a TTPC through an Egg I placed? Because that would be awesome way to get non token TTPC out there.
