So, I've been out of the game for awhile and haven't been able to keep up on what new figures are good or not. So my question is really what some good figures to play in 300 point modern? I've kept up on rule changes and such and still understand the strategy of the game pretty well, it's just the figures I don't know anymore. I've been reading through the more current set lists and some things are obviously more useful than others, but I'd appreciate any suggestions you all have! Thanks!
Right now, Quinjet, Zombie Team base and Krang. Thats the Rock/Paper/Scissors
Everything else is meh to ok against those things.
This. You can tech in a counter to each of these (like Union Jack prime against the TB, or nighthawk prime for Krang), but you are either playing one of these or playing to beat them all

I have a unique strategy. I build a unique team that I feel like can do good against the field, but I take the chance that one of the hard counters is enough to prevent one of the major things from being played heavily. For example. There is more of a chance that people will play Primehawk than Union Jack Prime because of the usefulness of the figure in the meta. So I would take a chance that the threat of Primehawk would prevent people from trying to play Krang. Now I have to make sure my team does well against the other 2 match ups. And hope that I can navigate my team to a victory against Krang, using sheer skill even though I have no hard counters for him on my team.
That makes sense, especially your example. I think that there will be many prime hawks out there. I also try to never use something that is considered on of the best teams. People am expect it and know how to stop it.
Thanks for the responses, I'm finding it really helpful. I could tell when he came out that Primehawk was gonna be big. He's cheap and a huge nerf. But since then I'd been out of the loop, so thanks for the updates.

You can technology in a counter to each of these?
You can technique in a counter to each of these?
I'm not trying to be grammar police but this new "tech" #### is hilariously awful. To the point where I have made it into an SNL skit (figuratively). I guess its not a saying in clix like "cheese" which is also a term i refuse to use. So was I correct to assume its one of the 2 I asked about above? Or is it something I am completely missing?

I believe he meant tuck. "...[tuck] in a counter to each of these."
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and tasty with ketchup.
Koriand'r with the Red Hood and the Outlaws ata is a blast to play.
If you plan on playing Krang, may I suggest Alpha One? The fact that he doesn't target and ignores line of fire is a great way to mess up an opponent's formation.
I think Engineer and the other pick a power figures, on the right team, could be all-star material.
