What Train Derailment? And what does it have to do with the pre-release?

There was a terrible train accident in TX and it had the early shipments for pre-release on it. They were destroyed as it was a nasty accident. So WK made an announcement about it a few weeks ago that the pre-releases were cancelled.

The sketch variants were cool for the B&W OG Ninja Turtles homage, but I don't think they work well for this set. "Oh, here's my Superior Foes team, but for some reason, Overdrive isn't painted!"

Yeah, now that I see them those sketch variants are a bummer.

BUT. Tarantula! One of my earliest comics when I was a kid was Spidey and Captain America versus Tarantula so that's pretty exciting to see.

Looks like a fun set that continues the trend of cheaper characters, somewhat. Should be better than ASM and WoS.

JJJ is going to be a nasty, budget support character.

Even if you have a whole team of sketch variants so they at least look uniform, they still just look like they're unpainted. It's cool for characters that came out of black and white comics, but not these.

Hate the new cards and hate the sketch variants .

I don't have much of a problem with the new cards, though. We'll see how space management goes. Helping newbies is a good thing.

Curious to see how many sketches you get in a brick. If its one per booster I can see a lot of people trading for common painted figures even just so the only representation of their figure isn't B/W.

Personally, if they were going to bite off an old idea I would've preferred a prismatic plastic (ala new UXM Prism) with a rainbow oily affect instead like the 90s holos of old.

Also its amusing to me that Scott is completely oblivious to the Sketch Art variants that were talked about a month ago. Doesn't Wizkids prep him?

all figures will have a sketch variant along with the reg im kinda excited. funny seeing scott not knowing what it was lol

He probably recorded the videos a month ago.

Sketch variants LAME

Unpainted figures - sorry, "sketch variants" - are reason enough for me to go the singles route. I can't imagine anything but annoyance and disappointment at pulling one of those, especially if it's a character I want.
