At DragonCon 2016 over 77,000 people milled about in costume and some not, mundanes or muggles you could say. Atlanta, once again, played host to the largest pop-culture/sci-fi convention in the country. In America’s Mart building 1, 2nd floor, gaming of all types took place. The Battletech “Mech Pods” were in full swing, the LARP’ers were whacking each other with foam weapons and HeroClix was a clicking!
For the second year in a row the HeroClix volunteers hosted a ROC SQ. Sixteen brave souls stepped out of convention mode for 7 hours, or so, on Saturday the 3rd of September to try their hand at competitive HeroClix.
The eventual winner was Matthew Billings (rein451) running a team based around Devil Dinosaur! How cool is that??!?!

And here is a quick shot of one of the semi-final matches.
I assume it is to allow the Morlock to die, popping out Proteus on the cheap, and let him go to town while enjoying the protection from WW'S trait, and if he dies you only gave up 35 points plus 10 or 15 depending on how you played the Morlock.
I remember summer of last year seeing how big Robots were about to get in the meta and thinking that Living Laser could be a meta contender as a counter of sorts, but I'd given up on that notion since he never showed up on any of these lists - but hey, there he is!

I am glad to see a Devil Dinosaur win. I also see living lightning as a great choice with all of the robots out there.
I ran Devil dinosaur with Koriand'r/eclipso and Batman/Superman Robot, an ultron and ID cards. I will never know if this was a great strategy, because I couldn't win map roll and round 3 I couldn't roll above a 5's. Still had a great time.
I am glad to see Brainiac Skullship getting some love, it is one of the more fair and playable colossals Wizkids has ever done and I want more like it rather than more 3000 point monstrosities. Also glad to see heavy use ID card teams not dominant. Congrats to the Top 8!
