What does TA stand for? (Hint: therein lies your answer)
That's not great advice.
It's just a name. In this case it works out, but if they introduced something called "Widget Abilities" that were not defined in the abilities section, they would not actually be abilities as per the rules of the game.

True, but I wasn't going for just the name. They are called team abilities and defined as such in the rule book (which was going to be the follow up).
I take your point, though.
Though, just to be an ass: calling something a widget ability and having it not be an ability would be as counter-intuitive as it gets.

Team abilities can be countered but it is not a power that is very common.
KC chases from WF can be countered by other printed KC so I think you have a few options.
In modern I think you are limited to giving outwit to another KC symbol. The only other option is to disallow the use of TAs which is not the same as counter.
Stark Industries ATA should also work.

Outside modern there is always the batbelt.

How many legs does a dog have if you call a tail a leg?
4 - calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg.
... Abraham Lincoln
I think it depends if the tail allows the dog to possess another leg or only can use another leg. Hmm actually no, now that I think about it, it's only if the legs are printed on the dial.

no, you have this entirely wrong - it's only if the tail is equipped does it gain the effects of a leg.
Naming things in a way which clashes with other mechanics is something that happens.
Not to go too far down the rabbit hole: I know of those two, but those are two different special powers with the same name. That's a bit different from naming something a defined game term, but having it not be that game term.

It would be the other way around as both of those SPs pre-date the Pink Power which I guess in some respects stole its name from the SPs.
