Win/Loss: 9-2 The Assassin is an amazing generic, priced just right for his role. He is an enforcer - designed to tussle with any martial artist while allowing your main attacker to deliver the true pain. Side-step / Willpower / Stealth is a wicked combo for maximum freedom of movement. Poison means soft-targets need to be aware of being double-tokened. His team-abilities fit him well - especially with Wildcards (can carry) and B.E. to share that sweet 11 spike. With Calculator, he becomes even more brutal - taking the highest attack value (and dealing with the bat) or lending his. 2 of these, Talon and 4 Iniatives = 300 Pts.

Reason: Update W/L 7/3/19
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
I would be way more inclined to play a fig like this if he was 60 points and not 70.
Take away click #4, and make him ignore Hindering for movement, and I would be 3 times more likely to build a Court Of Owls theme team.

This is a truly great generic. I didn't think much of the dial at first, but playing them makes it very clear how good they actually are. The Court of Owls are shaping up to be incredible additions to Bat enemy teams.
These guys became so good with side step and the Underworld TA (Post 2017 rules). The fact that they can sidestep and carry around their fodder is immensely helpful for positioning and saving actions. Mastermind, Willpower, and Poison all top dial is just great. Not to mention flurry/ blades combo mid-dial can be brutal. Sidestep really does wonders for the lack of improved movement. This is a fabulous generic, but it is not a point and shoot figure. They require foresight and planning. However, they provide you with a lot of tools to place them in the correct situation. I need to play these guys more.
i love the whole court of owls theme from this set. i have a few of these and have actually enjoyed talon, assassin, and initiates. but my biggest gripe about these guys is that they have zero damage reducers or evasions. when the mm fodder initiate is k.o.'ed, these guys are naked. they always seem to end up on click 4 for me when i lose his initiate. i love flurry, but not when im attacking against toughness. their lack of range makes them one dimentional. that doesnt justify their 70pt cost for me. i know they have traited b/c/f which is great, but i feel they need some range or smoke cloud to be more effective. you throw these guys in printed hindering, and no one may engage them. cant be a threat if not based. i do like the willpower and sidestep top dial, which tells me the guys need to be played aggressively. carrying their inititates gives them a little staying power, so better get talon into position quick or your opponent just claimed 70pts. win/loss: 1-5. again, i love these guys and will continue to lose with them. i feel they are a little pricey for what they bring.
