So I know nick can use the "can't use" ability on power cosmic figures but I was curious about tyrants special defence ability if he can just say no to it or not? Cause me and some other people I play with have always thought he could only say no to the standred powers that special powers can give and not the special power it's self. Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything for tyrant specifically

It says nothing about standard powers. Nick can pick Special Powers and make an opponent 'can't use' it.

Step 1 when asking a rules question is to quote the effects about which you are asking.




I'm not sure why this is narrowed down to Tyrant, but anyway.

Galactus' First Creation is a power that Tyrant can use, so it can be chosen.

There's nothing about Nick that restricts him to standard powers.

You are able to single out individual standard powers, of course, but negating the whole special works, too.

Example:


Looking at Master Blow, you can get rid of only Close Combat Expert if you wish in order to have him keep Battle Fury, but maybe you have a Shape Change guy around. In that case, you could negate the whole Master Blow.
