Hello everyone,
I wanted to thank the rules gurus who always help answer my questions, and help clarify things for me.
I have recently been 'forced' to become our venue's new judge. Previous one left the game.
I am not very good with my memory, from age and a recent stroke. I rely on a good friend to help with rulings during games, but always promise my players I will check to make sure all calls were done correctly, and to inform them of any mistakes made. So, I handle things as well as I can.
This is why I wanted to thank you all. I know I can be annoying with so many questions...
Now, onto the questions from this week's game.
1) This one involves Blocking terrain, Elevated terrain and Lines of Fire.
If a level 2 of elevation has some blocking terrain on one edge of it...
does the blocking terrain stop LoF from being drawn to and from a character on the lvl 2 elevation from a character on lvl 1 elevation?
. . . B 2 2 2 2 . . .
. X. B Y 2 2 2 . . .
. . . B 2 2 2 2 . . .
. . . B 2 2 2 2 . . .
Can X draw LoF to Y through the B(locking) terrain because Y is on elevation 2?
And does this change if Indoor vs Outdoor... I was told indoor it is blocked, but outdoor blocking does not go infinitely high anymore, and the elevation can see over it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Pretty sure I know I was right with this one...
Special Terrain markers (Ie, Lazarus Pit, etc.) do NOT count as Hindering for activating Stealth.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) This one is kind of strange. Perplex. I know if you take damage or heal you loose the perplex. What if you change your clix number but NOT from damage or healing? Ie, Taskmaster. "MASTER OF ALL MOVES: At the beginning of your turn, you may turn Taskmaster's dial to another click. If you do, at the end of your turn return him to the click he began the turn on."
I assume you would keep the perplex, but I want to make sure I made the right call.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Can a Tiny figure draw LOF to a Giant figure if there is normal sized figure between them ? Tiny -> Normal -> Giant

1) Confused about this one. If B is on level 2, then no, but the rim would've blocked LOF anyways. If B is on level 1, yes you can draw LOF if outdoors. If indoors, no.
2) Depends on the marker. Is it considered Hindering? Then yes, drawing lines of fire through it are blocked for Stealth. If it's just hindering for movement, like water, then no, you can't stealth.
3) I'm not sure about this one, but I think you keep your perplex.

Okay, there was a little bit of confusion on this one, but I assume that the blocking is actually on Elevation 1, and Y is on the Rim of Elevation 2. Indoor and Outdoor does not change what Blocking does, only how certain people interact with it. So without an Blocking, X and Y can not draw line of fire to each other.
Core Rulebook, Page 13: "Any line of fire [...] that crosses blocking terrain is labeled a “blocked” line of fire [...] and the line of fire is not able to be drawn through this terrain." Core Rulebook, Page 14: "A line of fire between characters or squares
on different elevations is blocked by:
•Blocking terrain on the same elevation as the square on the lower elevation."

The marker's ability needs to specify that it is hindering- otherwise, it is not.

Perplex is specific on when it's effect would go away other than normal circumstances. As long as the Perplexer still has the power, it doesn't matter how the Perplexed dial changes as long as he didn't take damage or heal.

Yes. No character of a lower size blocks line of fire to or from characters.
Heroclix Design Insight: "Lines of Fire – Lines of fire drawn to or from a character are not blocked by characters smaller than themselves."
How Great Size characters interact with blocking terrain changes from indoors to outdoors. No one else.
And this is why shorthand can be confusing. Because I'm sure the idea behind 1 came from "well, a great size character draws line of fire like it's elevated..." Which it doesn't. Great size can draw lines of fire from different elevations, but it's not ever elevated (unless...it's actually on elevated terrain).

This one seems strange... the normal sized figure is larger than the Tiny, so how does it draw LoF to the Giant? I understand the Giant's LoF is not blocked because the normal sized figure is smaller... Logic doesn't fit this one... imo.
Thanks

Look up too me, see a friend.
Look down on me, see an enemy.
Look me square in the eye, see a God!

Not sure if you mean logically like you can't see it happening in real life. Or if you mean you don't see it in the actual rules.
In the rules, it says "to or from."
If you mean it's not realistic, if a giant can see the tiny, the tiny can see the giant.

I just want to add emphasis to the part I bolded because OP specifically mentioned Taskmaster, a character who only has perplex on his first click. If you rotate his dial to any click that doesn't have perplex on it then the effect of his perplex is immediately lost.
