Hi, How will the new changes to Mind Control effect wxm043 Shadow King and his special attack?
"XAVIER'S EQUAL... NO, SUPERIOR: Shadow King can use Mind Control as if he had a range value of 10. When he does, he is not dealt unavoidable damage, and hit targets may be assigned two free actions instead of one. One of the two actions must be a move action."
He will need errata. Any other answers would be making it up.
If you want what I'd suggest, I'd go with:
"XAVIER'S EQUAL... NO, SUPERIOR: Shadow King can use Mind Control as if he had a range value of 10. When he does hit targets do not halve their movement values."
I think it captures the intent of the original wording while keeping with the new intent.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Thanks for the reply. It has also been suggested to me to maybe "do what Mind Control does x2". I do like your suggestion more since it seems more balanced. Do you think there would be an official errata or is it to be made up since it's an older figure?
i was somewhat wondering about this figure as well... its one of my favorite mind control pieces and the new rules kind suck for him specifically. i hate the new rules for mind control but theres nothing i can do about it honestly. ill miss mind controlling a massive beast with pulsewave and hitting my opponents entire team with that shadow king
Not sure that it needs any real change, just some clarity (you have the normal MC action, which is going to be moving and attacking in any order, and Shadow King throws an extra move in there).
But as stated, this is all guesswork as to what may or may not happen, and as was said in another thread, this isn't what the rules forum is for.
When the new rules and whatever errata come out then people can start answering questions.
This is not dissimilar to asking people to guess how some hypothetical power would work if it was given to some character in the next set.
