I would hazard a guess as to why Carabas suggests staying away from the big crossover events. Generally speaking, they are not usually satisfying as stories. They have awkward motivating factors for the purpose of events and they nearly always have unsatisfying endings. They are usually illustrated by dynamic artists with big splash pages and feature LOTS of colorful characters fighting each other, and that can be all some readers really want. The big crossovers may or may not be for you based on what kind of comic reader you are.
Regarding the TPBs you mentioned, here's my take:
- Convergence:
Skip it. It wasn't much of a story on its own. Some of the specific mini-stories within were great fun, but as an overall event, its pretty dumb. If you know of some of the smaller stories you want to read, I think you'd be better off just tracking down those individual issues. I highly recommend the Shazam issues by Parker and Shaner.
- Infinite Crisis;
I hated it, but I know others feel differently. Its hard to recommend on this one, not knowing what comics you enjoy and which ones you don't.
- Trinity Wars:
I didn't read it because, like Carabas, I usually avoid the big crossovers. I assume it is terrible.
- Injustice:
I have heard this is a good comic, but at this point in my comic-reading life, I have read SO many comics in which a bright super-hero world gets darker and more violent, this kind of story holds no appeal for me. If you are a younger reader than I, who hasn't already seen this kind of thing a hundred times, perhaps you'll be more charmed by the premise than I am.
- Rebirth:
There are some really solid titles worth reading from the Rebirth catalog. I am not familiar with how good Flash is, but the other ones you mention, Superman and Aquaman are really fun, solid comics. Get those.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

I felt the same way, but I picked up the first volume at my local library and was surprised by it. Maybe it's because the story is told as a slow descent, or maybe because it's been so long since I read a decent "What if" type of story, but this made that tired concept seem fresh to me, or at least well executed enough to be engaging.
Are you at all a fan of Batman? Because the past decade or so has been an incredible time to be a Bat-fan. Rucka/JH Williams III on Batwoman, Brubaker/Rucka on Gotham Central, Grant Morrison's epic run on the main Batman title - you really can't go wrong with any of those.
thanks for the info.. i like big fights so ^^ ofc i am batman fan , but i want to change hero .. i had year one , return of the dark knight , killing joke and others from him. im not done with him but i want to explore others like flash aquaman superman etc..
tidge's suggestion of All-Star Superman is a great start, then. Just twelve issues, so it's a nice finite run, but Morrison hits the essence of Superman perfectly during that span. If you're interested in bite-sized chunks of DC's other heroes, I'd also recommend Jeff Smith's Shazam: The Monster Society of Evil. It's an unapologetically fun book about the Big Red Cheese that came out at a time when, everywhere else, DC was really starting to double-down on the grimdark.
I really enjoyed the first volume of the New 52 Wonder Woman. The TPB is called "Wonder Woman, vol. 1: Blood."
The best DC TPB I've read in ages is "Prez, Vol. 1," but it is not a supers book. It is essentially a commentary (a very strong one) on contemporary US politics.
Since you love great group fight scenes, I will get in my time machine and recommend the Wolfman/Perez New Teen Titans comics from the 1980s. They are widely available as TPBs. These guys did superhero action beautifully. Every character gets his or her due, and there is dynamism without clutter.

They're mostly only available in the big omnibus editions now, but I can't recommend James Robinson's Starman books enough. Fantastic character driven stories that really explore the whole concept of the legacy hero, where a new character picks up the name and mantle of a Golden Age hero.

A very strong second for this. Many of the characters may be less familiar than the JLA bigs, but the writing, art and characterization here are all great. "Starman" is also one of the all-time best explorations of family, especially father-brother and brother-brother ties, that DC has done.
I don't necessarily agree that big crossovers are all bad, and there are gems in the new52 & Rebirth both.
I would recommend:
Crossovers:
Forever Evil and Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion.
Basically, the Crime Syndicate crosses over into the main DC universe and catches the Justice League with their pants down. So Lex Luthor & the Rogues & other cool villians help Batman save the world.
As far as crazy crossovers go, this one was immensely satisfying--but I do like the Rogues!
Convergence was a lot of fun--a universe re-boot of all the crossovers and reboots! Very "meta" in a different way than we normally mean. Pick up the main TPB, plus the "extras" with you favorite characters.
For instance, if you like Red Son & the JSA, pick up Convergence: Infinite Earths Book One. If you're a 90s kid you might want Convergence: Zero Hour 1 or 2. I really liked the Flashpoint stories, too. Every volume has great stories.
Injustice: I love these! Pick up the Annuals and see if you like this Elseworld enough to pick up the TPBs--there's a whole library of them!
Rebirth:
Get the DC Universe: Rebirth. It was a cool story and that way you'll know what's going on right now!
The breakout stars of Rebirth have been Green Arrow and Aquaman--yes, I'm serious!
Grab the first GA: Green Arrow Vol. 1: The Death and Life Of Oliver Queen.
Grab everything Aquaman! Aquaman Vol. 1: The Drowning and Aquaman Vol. 2: Black Manta Rising are both incredible!
The first two Flash volumes in Rebirth are a bit disappointing--but only compare to the new52 stuff which was great. If you're a Flash fan, grab the end of the new52 or wait for The Flash Vol. 3: Rogues Reloaded which has been a fun ride.
If you want Rebirthed Gotham, get Detective Comics Vol. 1: Rise of the Batmen. Another breakout, Detective Comics is usually the worst of the Batman/Nightwing/Batgirl/Red Hood/Batwoman titles. Since the Rebirth it's been the best!
