Just a thought for the new rules.
Wouldnt it be interesting if knockback from superstrength would only happen from a close attack and knockback from forceblast would occur from range attack? :-)
A roll of doubles would still stand out since knockback will occur regardless of the type of attack.
Kinda weird for me about superstrength incurring knockback even from a range attack. :-(
That he could. But not because he used his muscles. So its not really super strength that knocked back. :-)
I do agree with you on the game balance POV though, :-)
I too would like more knockback. Charge, especially as common as it is, should not ignore knockback.
If carry can have size caveats in rules, how about knockback? Like carry, you can knockback the same size and smaller.
And like the change to incapacitate years ago (where a character that couldn't be given an action token because they already have two - so they take a penetrating damage) if you don't get to knockback a character because they are multi-based - they take 1 penetrating damage instead.
better knockback 2017

I thought of it too late to mention when they were taking feedback for the new rules, but I wanted to add that characters with Super-Strength ignore Charge and Combat Reflexes for knock-back purposes on a roll of doubles.

That would be cool.
I really don't like that FB's action can't trump either Charge or CR. It just seems like a wasted power, because you can counter it so easily.

I empathize with y'all on this one, but if I had to guess, I'd say that CR&Charge preventing knockback is an intentional decision for the "close powers" to help balance the range-over-close advantage that's inherent to the game. I'm almost a little surprised that CCE doesn't offer to ignore it too.
I really like the resurgence of knock back as a game mechanic, although personally almost any time I knock back an opposing character I end up wishing I hadn't because it takes them out of range/LoF for the second shot that I'd lined up.
Why does Combat Reflexes ignore knock back now? I liked it better when you had the option of getting knocked back any time you took damage. That seemed more in spirit with what someone of Combat Reflexes would be able to do anyway (using the force of your attack to help launch me out of here). As has been stated, there are plenty of ways to avoid knock back, we didn't need another one. And having that option was unique to that one power. Now it's nowhere to be found. Why did they change it? Any hope of them changing it back?
