Once again we would like to welcome everyone to a new ROC date in Buenos Aires Argentina oeganized by Apocalipsis Comics. For the second consecutive year, we offer the Heroclix community the opportunity to play and have fun in this international tournament, with a format that seeks to give everyone the opportunity to compete with the best players and with people from different places.
Just as we did in 2016, we will distribute the prizes from two pools of prizes: one to be raffled among the participants during the qualifying phase, even before the top 8 and final, with the same hierarchy and value as the prizes for the finalists. This gives the opportunity to all participants to equally win Convention prizes and important gifts, regardless of the quality of their team and guarantees that the prizes do not go only to the best teams or positions. The second pool will be awarded to positions 1 to 8.
We firmly believe that these events are rewards to the Heroclix community and its participation throughout the year. We not only want to reward the best teams and players but also those participants who enjoy playing the game, regardless of the result, and those who come to enjoy the game and feel passion for it.

FORMAT

300 pointS Modern Limited (What does it mean for the new players?)
At the time of building your team there are limits to the pieces or materials that you can use to do so. It can not be of more than 300 pts. Now let's see what is allowed

ALLOWED - Parts of the modern format according to Heroclix expansion rules + special objects + what is permitted by these regulations
NOT ALLOWED - Resources and entities + larger figures than peanut base, ID CARD + PROHIBITed miniatures TYPE X e.g. FELIX FAUST Convention figure

MAPS - It is allowed to bring two maps, minimum 1. The sides of two different maps to be used will be chosen and they will be recorded in the sheet according to the team to play. It will be forbidden to use those maps already stated as forbidden in the page of Heroclix.com and Roc rules.
The Modern format theme limits the use OF expansions to those Wizkids tournament system allows (see the page of Heroclix.com)

THEME RULES - The rules that will apply are the old ones, even if new rules come out in that month with the launch of the new Thor expansion.

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
THERE WILL BE 4 qualifying rounds and the 8 best scores will play the 2nd phase and there will be a top 8 with direct elimination until we find the champion of ROC 2017 Argentina.

TOURNAMENT MODE

We will start the tournament at 12 noon. Participants will have to arrive between 11 and 11:30 am, when they will be registered in the tournament and in the Heroclix system. They will also have to enrole their team and maps in the registration forms that will bw given to them by the organization. After the first draw they will be taken to their tables, which will be numbered. At the end of each round the players must write their results in the form and both sign them prior to informing the organizers so that the results can be loaded into the system.
The results will be announced after each round and these results will be available for reference during the tournament.
The games will be observed by a designated referee who could be called during the round for questions and queries and who will have the last word in conflicting situations.
The 8 best results of the qualifying rounds will go to the TOP 8 to play the final, the rest will be able to play an extra event with its own prizes to wait for the result of the tournament.

ENTRY AND AWARDS
The entry will be 30 U$S if paid in advance until Saturday 9th or 35 U$S on the day of the tournament.
Prizes will be awarded according to the positions of the TOP 8 as well as a Champion Trophy to number 1. The prizes will include exclusive material of the ROC 2017 and Convention figures such as Marvel Heroclix WizKids Giant-Man with Pym Tank Convention Exclusive, Heroclix TMNT Pizza Face Convention Exclusive TP17-002, DC Heroclix 15th Anniversary Elseworlds SKYSCRAPER WONDER WOMAN # G001, Marvel Heroclix WizKids Spirit of Vengeance Convention Exclusive MP17, Marvel Heroclix WizKids Rocket Raccoon & Groot Convention Exclusive MP16-003, among others

Also, between each round of the qualifying phase, prizes will be awarded to all the participants and they will be drawn from the pool of prizes.
After the qualifying phase, those who have not qualified can play a Sideline tournament with an own prize without additional charge or a draft agreed upon with the organizers at a special price.

APOCALIPSIS COMICS - ROC BUENOS AIRES 2017 - REPORT


Firstly, thanks to everyone for the effort and the good vibs that you all put towards APOCA ROC 2017 on this rainy Sunday.
Once again, last Sunday September 10, 2017, Argentina had its place in the Heroclix world with this tournament organized for the second consecutive time by Apocalipsis Comics, official Heroclix store.





The tournament was played by people from Buenos Aires province, Buenos Aires City, Rosario and other parts of the country. The players devised different strategies to pass the qualifying phase and used pieces like the Goblin King, Jakeem Thunder, Al Jhor Dan, Overdrive, Green Lanter, Alan Scott and also Dr. Octopus, Le or Nick Fury, among others.
By using strategies ranging from waiting and striking at the last minute to seeking to define the match in the first rounds, each player had wins and losses, sometimes determined by the dice while others by a bad decision. However, what cannot be denied is that all of them enjoyed a feeling camaraderie and sportsmanship during the whole tournament.









After four qualifying rounds, the phase of direct elimination came into play with the TOP *8. There again the players came face to face and, after a tough elimination, the four winning teams got to the semifinals.

After the draw, it was Rosario vs. Buenos Aires in both games, where Carlitos won for Buenos Aires and Cristian for Rosario and moved on to the final.





For the third and fourth positions, the competitors were Juan with his Iron Man against Matias and his Superman Red Son. After a hard confrontation and a great game, where both players showed their chivalry and desire to play, Mr. Tony Stark managed to win.





The final was between two expert players and veterans within their communities. During a match that lasted 45 minutes, with great care to strategy, neither player gave any advantage to the rival and waited for the error of the other, which did not happen until the very end of the game. The definition came during Cristian’s last play with an attack by his Dr. Octopus, who, after being transported by Overdrive, put an end to a careless Hat that fell at the mercy of the octopus tentacles.

Emerging as champion of ROC 2017 - ARGENTINA, Mr. Cristian Rodríguez, a legendary member of the community LEGION HEROCLIX from Rosario, took the champion’s trophy home, to everyone’s pride and joy. Anyway, both players, Cristian and Carlitos, had a perfect 7-0 and 6-1, a great performance all through the tournament.




As always, the prize table was distributed according to positions and chosen by the players according to their tastes or collecting needs. In addition, the champion got a complete ROC 2017 kit, including map, dice, objects and extras.









During the TOP *8 other players played a Battle Royal and Booster draft to wait for the result and to celebrate with the champion, which gave us an opportunity to relax and share the afternoon between laughs and the rolling of dice.






Once again, we thank the community for supporting us in these tournaments. Our aim is to share our passion with people from all over the country and to make communities grow by bringing international tournaments to both professional players as well as to those who are still learning and sometimes do not feel like playing tournaments where the same old take everything.

In 2018, we will continue with more ROC events and more Heroclix for everyone.
