"snip...
They are only equipped to a character in force construction if they have the special wielder trait - eg. Balder and Frey.
snip..."
Not to nitpick but the only equips I can think of that happen during construction are entity types atm.
The distinction is important because these actually come from outside the game so if you play a wielder you can beat the unique rule. You can have Stormbreaker in your build and also play BRB who can then start the game with his own different Stormbreaker equipped automatically.

Yep, no problem - I should have said "start the game equipped" rather than " during force construction".

I'm not seeing how they would avoid the uniqueness rule. The trait doesn't mention "from outside the game" nor does it use "generate" (which is used for bystanders brought in from outside the game). In the CRS this is all that is said about them in Objects:
OBJECTS ON YOUR FORCE
Objects that start the game equipped to, or held by, a
character do not have their point values count towards
your build total and do not count towards your object limit
during force construction.
That seems indicate that they are on your team during force construction, which would preclude having multiples.

Well that is pretty special and doesn't make any sense. If they are from "outside the game" why would they need the clarification in the Supplement regarding cost and number of objects.

I'm not sure to which supplement you are referring but it could be because they can be played with and/or without their wielder. It has caused some confusion including another clarification about how wielders were not intended to be optional. In the interest of fairness to someone that has a weapon but no wielder or vice versa, they can be played separately but a wielder can not be equipped before the game begins, so no possessors or any other object that can begin attached.
