Since we have a whole subforum for "Dice Games," I thought I would start a thread for "Star Wars: Destiny."
This is a very fun game. You choose characters from a whole range of Star Wars eras and media and pit them against one another through a combination of dice and card play. Thirty minutes is about as long as a game has ever lasted for us.
Decks are built along three lines:
--Heroes must work with other heroes, and all cards in their deck must be either "Hero" or "Neutral." Villains operate the same way.
--There are four colors of character and card: Red (Command), Yellow (Rogue), Blue (Force), Gray (Neutral). You must have a character of one of the first three colors in play to include like-colored cards in your decks.
--You play with a set point limit for characters -- 30 is common. Many characters have two point values. If you play at the upper, "elite," level you get to roll two identical dice for that character when you activate them. Then you build a supporting deck of exactly 30 cards. Heroes and many cards have associated dice that, when resolved, deal damage, give heroes shields, add resources or subtract resources from your opponent, remove cards from your opponent's hand, or change other dice.
Gameplay is fast and fun. I currently use mainly two decks:
--A General Grievous/elite young Darth Vader deck to melee-bash opponents and steal their toys
--An elite Luke Skywalker/elite Lando Calrissian deck that combines Yellow's flexibility with Blue's cool Force upgrades and events
Well, I'm working on a Doctor Aphra deck, if I can find a suitable partner in crime for her. (Also have 2 BT-1s and a copy of the Ark Angel, this is gonna be a fun-intended theme deck). Want to use her as Elite, which gives me 16 points to play with... (possibly Seventh Sister?)
Right now I'm tweaking a Aayla/Rose/Ezra deck for vehicle shenanigans.

Winning decks:
--ePhasma/Veteran Stormtrooper/First Order Stormtrooper. The Dry Fields Battlefield was important for getting this team the dough to gear up with red red blastery goodness.
--eKylo Ren Tormented One/Cad Bane. Here I lucked out, in that my opponent was playing all yellow characters to maximize Gang Up potential. Kylo's dice are not much to write home about, but in this instance his pick-a-color power was brutal.

Congrats! Just went 2-1 in the last league events we had. These were Limited Constructed, so had the following rules:
Only non-elite versions of a character could be used.
Only 1 legendary in the deck
Up to 6 rares in the deck
Up to 10 uncommons in the deck
No duplicates in the deck
So, played Thrawn/IG-88 with a thermal detonator for shenanigans, went 2-1 with that deck. Then I played a Yoda/Luke/Aayla blue hero deck, and also went 2-1. It was pretty wild.
Doing that format again in a few weeks, but now that I have my Vader Sith Lord... gonna run Thrawn/Vader for some silly madness.
(Also got my Battle Droids, so EThrawn+2 Battle Droids is definitely gonna be a thing)

I'd probably visit this site more than once every few years if there was a marketplace for Destiny trading.
Love Destiny. When I quit clix and a few years later got back into gaming I played the Panini DBZ. That died so then I played some Netrunner. Then not much else. Then wanted to get into L5R when it dropped, which I did - but in the process got into Destiny. Absolutely love it.

Hey, long time no see! Definitely enjoying Destiny as a fun game... not sure how serious I'd get into it as it feels like you either play fun but not expensive decks that can be feisty, or you spend serious $ for the top tier.
And I'm not into spending $ for top tier.
