ENTITY POSSESSION: When Adara is KO'd or if you pay 25 points when building your force, equip this character to a friendly character and link it to that character's dial.
EFFECT: This character has the Blue Lantern Corps keyword. At the beginning of your turn or after this character is clicked, you may choose 1 power on the equipped dial and 1 combat value on the equipped dial higher than this character's same printed combat value. This character can use that power and modifies that combat value by +1 until your next turn or clicked.
Assume I'm running a Blue Lantern Corps Themed Team with 3 figures on the map--2 with the Blue Lantern Corps keyword by default and 1 without. Assume that Adara is equipped to that 1 by paying 25 points for her, for a total of 4 characters and Adara equipped.
Does Adara still count for or against Themed Team in terms of initiative roll for map and number of Themed Team Probability Control uses? Would running Adara on a non-Blue Lantern, Cosmic, or Entity team break theme?
Just making sure. I'm about to play against a friend later this evening; he's running Butcher with Red Lanterns, and I'm running Adara with Blue, and I wanted to verify this before we sat down to play. This is just something I've not thought of before and never counted one way or the other (granted, I've never run Adara outside of Blue Lantern Corps, either).
Is the effect in effect during force construction?
from the quoted trait:
ENTITY POSSESSION: When Adara is KO'd or if you pay 25 points when building your force, ...
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
Yes, and right after that it says 'equip...', so it is equipped during force construction, but 'effects' aren't active until the character is on the map, unless the 'effect' itself specifies. I'm wondering if there is something special that makes Equipment-Characters effects active during force construction.
In the "bad old days", I'd grab three random figures, equip each with an entity. Each equipped figure gained the "entity" keyword (no longer true). Each of the figures - the three I picked, and the three entities - each of the 6 counted towards a named theme team, so I had 6 versus whatever you had.
Now they don't count as characters, and they also don't give any keyword except the particular Lantern Corps keyword.
So the shenanigans are almost entirely eliminated.
The Effects of Equipment Equipped during Force Construction have always been active. Pirate Deadpool has a passive effect that doesn't say anything about Force Construction. It's not a comparable scenario.
If you want to argue otherwise, do it on the WIN and show us an official reversal.

No. The Entities only grant the Lantern Corps. keywords, and they're all unique. You can't make Theme using just the Entities anymore.

correct, they don't grant the entity keyword anymore (the cards are wrong), just their respective Lantern Corps keyword.
And, as noted, they're unique, so you can't equip three copies of Ion to three random figures to make them all Green Lantern Corps. You can, however, equip Ion to Batman, put him with Kyle and John, and have a three man GLC force, with three character named theme team.

Ok.
Maybe I'm just not following the rules legalese from having been grading papers the last week nonstop.
Assume I equip Adara to, oh, someone inconsequential like Wolverine, who is an X-Man. I decide to put that Wolverine/Adara combination on an X-Men themed team.
If I'm reading the above posts correctly (most notably BertieWooster's), Adara would not break the existing X-Men themed team due to Adara's not being a character at the time of force construction.

Is this correct?
That is correct *in best Chris Farley impersonation*.

Correct-a-mundo.
If your force was an X-Men themed team and you added Adara on top as an equipped character to Wolvie, Adara would add the corps keyword to Wolvie and give him the equip/effect benefits, but would not count as a member of your force for any other purpose - no theme team or map roll benefits, and Adara's keywords would not be considered for whether or not you have a themed team.
Same for the other entities.
Same for others like Eclipso which don't grant keywords to the equipped character.
