First off, I apologize if this isn't the place for this post. I didn't know anywhere else to put this.
So after a long leave of Heroclix, I've come back with the intention of teaching my girlfriend how to play. After perusing the units section we decide that TMT seems like a great place to start, familiar characters, fun powers, the new cards and 2017 rules, and a colossal for fun. But after looking around (approx 15 pages of Google) I cannot find anywhere that sells these dang bricks. I guess that pieces like Carnage and Uni-Mind have really taken over because in my years I've NEVER had a set that I couldn't get my hands on. The only listing on Amazon is 1,000! Really? So I don't know. I just wanted to ask if anyone knew about a LGS with some stock that they'd be willing to mail domestically or something. We got our hopes up for the set thinking it'd be easy to grab, so I'm really disappointed that there's so little stock. If not, I guess we'll just have to make due with maybe Secret Wars coming up. Thanks.
I think some reprints would save the set so hard. Seeing pieces go for $20-100 just because they're so hard to get is ridiculous. I get that reprinting heroclix is a bit harder then say, magic, but I bet if they do, they'd sell like hot cakes and they can drive down these prices for the consumer, and best of all, I can get some for my girl. :P
By the time they even see that they might want to, it takes even more time to set up the factory, get the product made, get it shipped to the U.S., and then finally out to stores.
And by the time it all gets done, who knows if anyone would even care any more?
It's not like this could be on the street next week or even next month, and that's if they could even get the factory time and still manage to keep their other sets on schedule.
As to the OP, sorry, but I checked my Clix source (they do mail order) and they are out of bricks.
But if you like colossals, Infinity has plenty to offer.
The way you describe it, Avengers Infinity might still be a good set for you. Maybe Thor's more your bag, but this set's full of well-known Avengers & Guardians of the Galaxy. It's got a lot of obscure characters too, so I can't say to judge which is better in familiarity (TMT had a lot of characters very obscure to anyone not into Thor). There's still a lot of interesting powers, such as the gem bearers, and each pack comes with a big piece (not as big as your traditional colossals, but still big). The Mighty Thor rules are a little bit off, though. There were some major issues with it upon release that they changed very quickly. You can download the rules on Wizkids' website for now. Star Trek has the most recent rules, but we're about to get yet another change with Batman: the Animated Series next month. If you need a physical rule book and PAC (definitely a nice thing to have), I'd say a little bit of patience is fine here so you can get the current one next month.
In the meantime, I'm sure you can get something out of Avengers Infinity and Thor: Ragnarok if you need your Thor pieces.

Yeah again I know reprinting a set would be basically impossible but. I've looked over Infinity but unfortunately there are too many obscure characters. Heck I think I barely know half the people of the set. My girlfriend really only knows the MCU and she really likes Thor and Hulk so.
Rather than trying to find boosters, singles market is probably your best bet.
Plenty of choice for your preferred characters in recent sets among common and uncommon figs, which shouldn't cost too much. Check out threads about businesses and their reliability, but I'd recommend troll & toad - never had a problem in 3 years (about 10 orders)
Im really glad the game doesnt reprint sets. That would be atrocious. Remember Universe? Yeah, me either except that it tried to sell me figures I already had.
If you want Hulk and Thor you can find them both in practically every Marvel set ever made. Hell, get the FF or starter.

There are other useful characters in the set besides Thor and Hulk though. That are either expensive or their own or just hard to find as singles.
Yeah, I get the special feeling of opening boosters, and it's plenty good to open boosters getting in so you have a variety of a collection. Singles are still great for getting in (or getting back in). Yeah the SR's and chases are good, but singles are really the best source of value for the budget gamer. Most boosters contain less value than the price of the pack, so each one is basically a gamble. I think the only thing you're really going to miss is the common Loki, since because he works best with multiples, people wanted all the multiples they could get, and now it's a hard common to acquire.

I'm not saying pieces should be reprinted. I'm just saying with the demand I feel like TMT's initial print run was too low. And I know that buying singles is better for your buck rather buying bricks, but nothing beats that special feeling of opening up a piece you wanted. I could just go on ebay and buy some avengers pieces, but I feel like that loses the charm of heroclix. It's all casual play so I don't really want to buy us each a premade top tier team. I just want to get some pieces we both like and make something fun. I think that's the spirit of the game.

Universe was a great place for new players at the time to start. I know quite a bit of players who got into the game and stayed because of the Universe set.
