Same with Grey ghost can he give the bonus on double dice with Tough Silver Screen Idol? because of the comma or by the real name Bruce Wayne?

You are correct. The only parts of a name that is excluded is stuff inside parentheses.

Yep! And with "real names" not seeming to apply with newer figures, it can't be a name that's not specifically Batman that has a real name of Bruce Wayne (Dark Knight, for example).

I don't think that ever mattered to begin with outside of ID cards which still function using Real Names and pieces that looked for "real names" (Duos, Cobalt Man) which would still function as well.

Under 2014 rules, if a piece was looking for Batman, it was still only looking for Batman, The Batman.

There were a literal handful of effects that keyed off of real names and while you hit a couple of them, I was just making a point that there's no possible, outside, corner case where it would work.

Split merge was neat for certain scenario style games but didn't seem effective as a mechanic to me.

Agreed. It was a nice flavor but the function just wasn't there... the only good function it gave compared to 2 figures is the "healing" when 1 hurt figure merged with a higher life figure to go to a better click number.
