So this question is on the fb causing a little uncertainty.

If Inque is equipped with the harness and activates the FREE then after the attack resolves she changes size will that help her avoid the roll and potential damage of the harness?

If an effect causes an equipped standard character to

I'm thinking she would still have to roll and maybe take it because it is a trigger with a duration but the argument being made is that the above rule somehow mitigates that. Any help is appreciated.

The effect of the Venom Harness grants a FREE that, when activated, creates a burst effect which includes all of what follows "FREE." All of that will happen, even if the harness becomes unequipped in some manner. The effect includes the trigger waiting for the end of your turn to resolve the D6 roll.

Jemmerx is correct. Once the effect resolves, the trigger is set up, and will resolve at the end of the turn.

I initially struggled with this concept in combination with the idea that Outwit/Perplex end if lost, but this has a key difference. Those are duration effects, lasting until a certain point. Venom Harness has a specific trigger time.

Sounds like you get the idea. The Venom Harness is actually setting up another effect though. In techinical rules language:

Outwit/Perplex have effects with durations, when those powers are "Lost" their durations expire immediately (ending the effects.)

As part of the Venom Harness effect, it sets up another triggered effect. Since the effect Venom Harness sets up is an End Triggered effect, it will resolve even if the original Venom Harness effect is "lost" or "can't be used." (Page 10.)

The duration for +1s to combat values etc. would be "suspended" though if Inque became a non-standard size since she could no longer use the effect of the Harness.

Yes, the triggers and resolutions remain the same ("the principles") even if the effect is different.

The general takeaway is: "after resolutions" and "beginning/end" triggered effects that were set up by other effects (that resolved) will always hang around waiting for the correct time to trigger. (Regardless of how or why the effect that set them up was "stopped.")

I think that is clear at this point, but reflecting upon recent threads, I want to make sure I am doing my best to teach people how to fish and not just giving them a few mackerels for the road
