While we are getting the umpteenth version of Superman and Batman, there are still oh so many more or less popular characters out there that are still waiting impatiently for their Heroclix debut. In this edition of Unclixed, it's the Lantern foe known as Relic!

A long, long, looooooooongggg time ago, in a universe that existed before our universe. The Emotional Spectrum wasn't used through rings, it was controlled by beings known as "Lightsmiths". People that just used the energy for whatever they wanted. One person started to argue that the emotional energy that was being used wasn't endless, it was finite. He was called a relic for this.

He wanted to support his claims, and for his effort, he not only ended up watching his people and worlds die, he was then trapped in the Source Wall. He remained there until he was accidentally freed by Kyle Rayner. Now in this new universe (much bigger than he used to be), he set out to continue to prove his hypothesis that the Emotional Spectrum can run dry and could destroy the universe if it ran out.

Relic waged a war on the varying Lantern Corps before he was trapped once again in the Source Wall... which he then escaped from again during the war between the Green Lanterns and New Gods. He'd continue his research on the Emotional Spectrum, even managing to team up with Hal Jordan against Black Hand.

Why clix him? We've seen a number of modern Green Lantern antagonists made over the years. Relic might be one of the weirder ones.

Who would he play with? Not many in terms of characters he's allied himself with in the comics. Maybe that brief team-up with Hal Jordan. But if he was made, he'd undoubtedly have the Scientist keyword.

What would his dial look like? For starters, Relic is either going to have the giant or colossal symbols.

I've been thinking that a Green lantern set modeled after AI would work so well. Between construct vehicles, mechs and larger enemies like Relic... i'd buy the crap outta that!

As much as I loved Btas, DC needs to give Batman and Superman a break and focus on the rest of their universe. Considering that WOL brought people that hadn't played clix for years back to the game, you'd think another Lantern-themed set would be a no-brainer.

Seems like DC heard me. This was just announced today: DC Rebirth is DC Comics most recent reboot of the entire DC Universe that re-imagines many of the most iconic heroes and villains in a stunning, new light! This exciting interpretation of the DC Universe includes new iterations of the usual suspects from the Justice League, JSA, and Teen Titans as well as new and exciting themes like Deathstroke's Defiance, Justice League China, and the Dark Trinity of Bizarro, Red Hood, and Artemis! Long-time HeroClix fans will be ecstatic to see many never-before-clixed characters like Power Girl, The Signal, Colonel Poison, Bumblebee, Cyclone, Commander Steel, Shade the Changing Girl, Jessica Cruz, and Flex Mentallo alongside their favorite, iconic characters! Much like when readers saw the DC Rebirth comics for the first time – we’re sure there are going to be some BIG surprises as they open these boosters!

Still mad that this, the first arc after Johns handed over the reigns of the GL universe resulted in the death of the Blue Lantern Corps.
