Would Mjolnir and Leap/climb allow you to hit opponents of away from an elevated rim?
Hello All!
Would Mjolnir and Leap/climb allow you to hit opponents of away from an elevated rim?
(I’ll have to type in the leap climb text later.)
Thanks!
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark
No. L/C says "Elevation does not affect adjacency when choosing targets for a close attack."
Mjolnir is telling you to disregard adjacency and make a close attack against a single target within range and line of fire. L/C doesn't affect line of fire or range, so it won't affect how Mjolnir works.
Ok. then the only way targeting away from the rim elevated characters would work is with IT: Elevated + Mjolnir right?

Mjolnir only requires the target to be within range and line of fire, so a character could potentially be on the rim of a different elevation, and still be a possible target with Mjolnir, without the need for any improved targeting. It depends on how the figures are positioned, just as it does with normal ranged attacks.

I should have been more clear. I was writing about characters away from (Not on the) the rim.

If they are standard size vs standard size than no since a standard size character can not draw lof to another standard size on elevation when not on the rim.

Are we saying that Mjolnir requires line of fire to make a close attack from range? Does stealth stop Mjolnir then without IT: Hindering? Because I didn't really think that's how it worked. Seems more like from the wording that Mjolnir gives line of fire from the equipped character to the targeted character to make a close attack based on the equipped character's range. I've always hated the wording on Mjolnir. It's Just Not structured right in the wording...

EFFECT: When this character makes a close attack that targets a single character the target may be within range and line of fire, regardless of adjacency. Modify this character's attack and damage +1 when attacking a single adjacent character.
Using Mjolnir to make a close attack requires LoF to the target per the above written effect. Therefore, yes, Stealth will prevent being affected by this attack as LoF crossing hindering terrain is blocked.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

Wow!! I just assumed that since it was a close attack that it got around stealth. Is this how everyone has played it? I'd think there'd been a lot of misapplication of this part... Guess it's good to be Batman or Black Panther when facing characters with Mjolnir.

Not meant to offend but it clearly states how it works so I'm surprised you are surprised.
This is why it is important to understand how things are written versus a vague understanding ie just simply "close combat at range".
It was of great importance that Owlman knew this when facing chase Thor and his Mjolnir a few weeks ago.
Well now you know...

Thank you as well.

That's how I dealt with a Mjolnir equipped Mistress two WKO's ago.
(I was playing Al-Jor-Dan and PaP Ironman, and most of power picks was stealth).
