I have a character occupying printed hindering terrain. They want to move into an adjacent square containing a hindering terrain marker (smoke cloud). Do they stop movement when entering the marker?

No. Hindering only stops movement if the previous square was not hindering (for movement). Pg. 20 of the rule book.
