WizKids Announces Enhanced Licensing Deal With Hasbro
February 25, 2019 – HILLSIDE, NJ– WizKids, the industry leader in high quality pre-painted & unpainted miniatures and established board games, announced a new licensing partnership with Hasbro today with the addition of beloved properties G.I. Joe, My Little Pony and Transformers to WizKids’ extensive line of miniatures.
Fans can expect to see their favorite characters first appear later this year in both pre-painted and unpainted formats.
“Much of the WizKids team has grown up with these cherished brands and are thrilled to be bringing them to life with the high definition sculpting processes that our customers have come to love,” said Justin Ziran, president of WizKids.
My Little Pony and Transformers products will be available throughout North America.
Haha! MLP is pretty popular and it's good to see another licence, it's gonna appeal to the girl gamer and there's some guys out there that would appreciate it too.
This is why I love the mash-ups you get in clix. Star Trek away team fend off Dr Dooms' Court of Owls robots while the Deadpool rides in on Princess Celestia but gets cut-off by Judge Anderson.
But will these be heroclix? They put out straight miniatures for D&D and others, right? Question in my mind is which (if any) will actually be heroclix figures.

On the other hand, if there's an audience that can make the G.I. Joe franchise profitable again, they've probably got some substantial overlap with miniatures wargamers (the "real" ones, not us prepainted/grid-based schmucks). ;-D

Same. I never thought I'd see the day when we'd even be having this conversation, though; I figured Hasbro would try to make their own competing game first (remember Attacktix?).
The Flamewing Pegasus from Yu-Gi-Oh fulfills my extremely meager needs for My Little Pony clix, personally, but if they make Transformers clix I'll just be hooking up an IV--and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
There's a substantial Transformers fan community at my local comic shop. Most of them don't do much with the recent Transformers CCG, but I think these properties being toy-based to start makes them well-suited for Clix. The main advantage of Clix over CCGs, to my eyes? Even when you're not playing, they're still neat little toys.
(I would also be down for some Transformers unpainted minis, because I know some minis painters who would make those look amaaaaaazing.)

Here's hoping!
I wonder how much the tariffs have to do with this. WK is already telegraphing cost increases and despite their somewhat heftier presence in the marketplace, Hasbro must be feeling the price pressure too. Maybe they want to open a significantly cheaper secondary toy line and will be pairing Hasbro's precision engineering with WK's game design to give us transforming clix. That would be so cool!... until it turns out that sloppy paint jobs prevent pieces from moving or smaller figures prove so fragile they keep breaking.
I was given rep for my screen name alone! Now I feel all warm inside
