Pardon our ignorance but a friend and I have been teaching ourselves the game and we often find that even with the rules, forums, and great Youtube videos, we still find there are things only experienced players can clarify.
In this case we have a question regarding the Mystic's Team ability. We understand the damage back to an opponent when a mystic team member is hit, however, we wondered how this worked with Energy Explosion? (A real game scenario.)
One ever two of my mystic team members incurred damage from an opponent's Energy Explosion. So, would the opponent then take one, or two points of damage back?
It's 1 point of damage per mystic hit with an attack (So 2 hit means 2 instances of penetrating damage). It's separate instances of 1 each (which can make a difference).
As a newer player, it can also help to point out the part that gives that reason (and part of why we recommend citing any powers or effects used when you ask a question):
MYSTICS -Each time this character takes damage from an opposing character's attack, after resolutions deal the attacker 1 penetrating damage. Uncopyable.
It's easy to miss the finer details when there's so much to read.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
And just to clarify (since it was quoted) it's not per hit. It's per character damaged. So if two mystics are damaged, they will each deal 1 penetrating damage. But if you hit two and only damage one, only the one damaged will deal the pen.

And just to clarify (since it was quoted) it's not per hit. It's per character damaged.
Speaking of missing the finer details.
Yes, I wrote that part too quickly to get to the rest, my apologies.
