Just wondering if anyone can confirm another DC set will be made. I heard something about playtesting not too long ago. Would that go against the NDA the play-testers sign to at least say they are working on a new set?
BTW...not trying to start another "wish-list" thread. Just wondering if anyone had any info.
I would count on there being at least two more DC expansions. There are so many characters yet to be made that would be major selling points for any DC fan.
Here's just a few characters we're waiting on:
- Sentinel (Allan Scott)
- Dr. Fate
- Hal Jodran (GL/Parallax/Spectre)
- Kyle Rayner
- Guy Gardener (GL/Yellow GL/Warrior)
- Mongul
- Maxima (Superman's own "Fatal Attraction" girl)
- Hank Henshaw (the Cyborg)
- the Eradicator
- Superboy (Kon-El)
- Supergirl (Kara Zor-El... I think that's her name)
- Hawkgirl
- Scarecrow
- Ra's Al Ghul
- Barbara Gordon (Oracle/Batgirl)
- Red Tornado
- Captain Atom
- Sand
- Powergirl
- Jade
- SHAZAM!!!!
- Orion
- Barry Allen (as the Flash of course)
- Lobo
And those are mostly good guys.
I'll be happy as long as I get Superboy and Orion.
It will all depend on the TOPPS takeover of Wizkids and how DC/Marvel react. Topps is a competitor to both companies whereas Wizkids wasn't. Don't be suprised if Critical mass is the last expansion for DC/Marvel
I believe that the orginal contract that DC had with Wizkids called for 3 sets. They started contract neogations with Wizkids first. But Marvel committed for more sets to push there starter set through first. That is the reason the IC sculpts and paint jobs are so ####py. It is going to be touch and go if DC renews with TOPPS at the helm.... For our sake I hope they do.
As much as I'd like a third DC set, I don't think there will be one.
For some reason, I think HeroClix is going to end up exactly the way OverPower did...
Several Marvel sets come out, as well as two DC. The company is bought out as Indy is being released. One last pathetic Marvel attempt is made. And while the last DC set is on the drawing board, the powers that be decide Baseball is much more interesting than comic books.
