Cherno-bat here is better than he looks on paper, due largely to that "army of nightmares" trait. Dark Knights is a scarce keyword, but it means he gives himself Stealth, which, combined with the long range, bolsters his so-so defense. Monster, meanwhile, is a relatively stacked keyword, and the Batman Enemy TA for himself & friendly monsters means he should easily be able to turn that disappointing 10 attack into an 11 or 12. The Battle Fury-granting Damage special makes him better suited to team up with Symbiotic Fusion-trait pieces (who have Super Senses) than with Symbiote-trait pieces (who have Shape Change). And the 3-6 Willpower from Great Size keeps him very active. His dial's just too short for the cost to make it in "serious play," but he can be fun in more casual games. Killer sculpt, too.
