when my opponement use a trap, i chain with "Ultimate Offering" to summon "A-Team" and so offer the "a-team" to negate my opponement's trap..
but i'm not sure it is allowed:
because if i summon the "a-team" with "ultimate offering" it means the chain is resolving.. and so it seems i can not chain again with the a-team's effect (before the first chain completely resolved...)
what do you think about it?
thank you in advance
///// A-Team: Trap Disposal Unit :
[MACHINE / EFFECT]
This effect can be used during either player's turn. When your opponent activates a Trap Card, Tribute this face-up card to negate the activation of the Trap Card and destroy it.
ATK/ 300 DEF/ 300
///// Ultimate Offering :
[TRAP CARD]
At the cost of 500 Life Points per monster, a player is allowed an extra Normal Summon, Tribute Summon, or Set.
First off, your dealing with Ultimate Offering which means you could only summon the a-team during your main phase or your opponents battle phase. if he/she activates a trap at any other time, too bad for you.
Second, you are correct about the summon occuring during chain resolution, so by the time a-team hits the field and you can use its effect, the trap in question has already resolved.
thanks, i was not sure
(but i'm still looking for a way to use a-team more effectively)
i'm surprised about what you say on ultimate offering:
in any case i only can use it's effect in my main phase (1 or 2) or in opponement's battle phase?
do you mean i can't use this card to summon a monster when my opponement summon a monster or use a magic card? (monster reborn for example)
I would think ATTDU would need to be on the field when the Trap card in question is activated.
And activating ATTDU's effect in the middle of a chain Resolving would violate a rule that only Archfiends can do, which is adding steps to an already resolving chain.
The chain would look something like:
Chain link 1: Opponent's trap
Chain Link 2: Ultimate Offering
Resolving:
Chain link 2: ATTDU is summoned and before chain Link 1' resolves, a new chain is born:
Chain Link 1: ATTDU is tributed for it's effect
And then the rest of the original chain:
Chian link 1: ATTDU negates the trap in question.
Maybe I'm wrong?
