ZOMBYRA THE DARK
lvl 4
(Warrior/Effect)
"This card cannot attack a player directly. Each time this card destroys 1 monster as a result of battle, decrease the ATK of this card by 200 points."
1.) What does this text mean? Example, if opponent has no monsters on the field can Zombyra attack? if so What damage would be done?
2.) If opponent has monster/s on field in set defence/defence positions can Zombyra attack? If so what damage would be done?
3.) If opponent has monster/s on field in attack positions can Zombyra attack? If so what damage would be done?
1) Since Zombrya can't attack directly, your opponent would be safe for a turn if Zombrya was your only monster on the field and they had none.
2) Yes, regardless if it is face up or face down, there is still a monster on the field for Zombrya to attack. If it was the first time Zombrya attacked and the defense position monster had only 1800 DEF, then the monster would be destroyed, no damage would be inflicted to the opponent, and Zombrya's ATK would go down to 1900 (since it starts at 2100).
3) If the monster was in face up ATK position and its ATK was 1800, then the monster would be destroyed, your opponent would take 300 LP damage, and Zombrya's ATK would go down to 1900.
Is the pattern starting to make sense?
In summary, Zombrya is a 4 star 2100 attacker which is great since you don't have to tribute. Unfortunately, he can't attack LP directly if your opponent has no monsters on the field and each time he destroys a monster, his ATK goes down by 200...so it goes 2100, 1900, 1700, etc.
The message board has some weird filtering rules for web links, so type in www dot netrep dot net into your browser, replacing my "dot" with "." accordingly 8^D
Zombyra cannot attack life points directly, it can however attack monsters both defense and attack mode monsters (Face down included). Battle damage done when battling monsters with conclude normally.
a related question... if Zombyra has attacked and destroyed a monster, so his attack is 1900 and then he gets destoyed by an attack or effect and then he is reborn or special summoned frm the Graveyard... does his attack go back to 2100?

Yes, once Zombyra leaves the field his effect is reset.
but, it's difficult to understand the reset of his effect because there's nothing in his effect stating how it gets reset. where in the rules do you find that his effect is reset on either a flip or destruction or whatever?
