does the effect stack if there are 2 on the field?
thanks :o
I'm pretty sure they do stack up if you have multiple copies active on the field. There's no official ruling on it though, so I can't be absolutely sure.
I too did a search and found nothing, so I submitted it on the Judge List. If I get a response, I will post it.
As promised, here is the ruling:

Would multiple copies of Heart of the Underdog cause an extra draw per card
when a normal monster is drawn in the Draw Phase, or would the first card
drawn from the effect of the first HOTU have to be a normal monster also
to get the second effect?

Answer:
This one is trickier.
You have two "Heart of the Underdog" face-up in your Spell and Trap Card Zone.
You activate "Jar of Greed." Your opponent does not respond.
When it resolves you draw "Dark Magician." This satisfies both "Heart of
the Underdog," so you can activate both of their effects. Their effects form
a chain.
Heart of the Underdog [1] --> Heart of the Underdog [2]
Now, going from the previous ruling on HofU you know that you can reactivate
the effect of HofU if you draw a Normal Monster. That works very easily when you
have only one copy.
But when you have TWO copies you have a timing problem. Due to the resolution
of the chain, the very last copy of HofU to resolve is the one you will want
to have draw the Normal Monster. If one of the first copies to resolve gets a
Normal Monster and the last does not, you will miss the timing. This is because
the card drawn from each is a seperate draw. (Different then drawing with
Reckless Greed)
Using my prior chain:
"Heart of the Underdog [1]" (You want the Normal Monster drawn here) -------->
(because) "Heart of the Underdog [2]" (if it is drawn here you will lose timing)
Let's say, using my chain, when I resolve my chain that I draw a "Dark
Magician" with HofU [2] and a Dark Magician Girl with HofU [1].
Because the last thing to resolve in the chain is me drawing an Effect
Monster (Dark Magician Girl) I lose the timing needed to activate both
copies of "Heart of the Underdog."
Now let's say that I draw a "Beautiful Headhuntress" with HofU [2] and
a "Mega Thunderball" with HofU [1]. In this case the last thing to resolve
in the chain is me drawing a Normal Monster Card, "Mega Thunderball," so
I am able to show it to my opponent and activate both copies of "Heart of
the Underdog" again.
You will note that even though I drew two Normal Monsters I will still only
get to activate the effects of my "Heart of the Underdog" once. (so I draw
2 cards, not 4)
Even messier, three copies of "Heart of the Underdog."
Heart of the Underdog [1] -> Heart of the Underdog [2] -> Heart of the Underdog [3]
Drawing a Normal Monster when I resolve HofU [2] or [3] doesn't help me. It is
[1] that is all important.
Due to this... communication on which of your Heart of the Underdog resolves
last is VERY important. You really need to work with your opponent to get
the chain understood so its resolution is not an issue.
Both players can easily become confused.

So, now we really see the dilema. Basically, the last monster drawn has to be a normal monster so the first HOTU can resolve since it is last in the chain (chains resolve in reverse order). Good luck playing this one, hopefully in a mostly normal monster deck.
holy.... i'm almost sorry i asked this question... i'm still a bit confused T_T
so basically with 2 HotU on the field i can draw 2 cards [if i draw a normal monster in my draw phase], but only the SECOND card must be a normal monster for me to activate both copies of HoTU?
K, for example you have 2 Underdogs, and draw a normal mon.
Both Underdogs would activate, and their effects placed on a chain, so be sure to designate which you are drawing for, and when.
U1 activates(first card on the chain)
U2 activates(2nd card on the chain)
Now we resolve in reverse, starting with U2.
U2 resolves, and you draw a Gagagigo
U1 resolves and you draw a DMG.
Since U1 was the last to resolve, you would miss the timing for both Underdogs, since they are going off of the last card that was being drawn. If the last card drawn was not a normal monster, then they do not activate again.

uhhhh... my head hurts.... ;o
This was also posted in regards to the above... a little bit of clarification about having to communicate HOTU #1, HOTU #2, etc.:

QUESTION:
So what you're saying is that you need to specify BEFORE you draw for the
multipe HotU's for which HotU you're drawing each time you draw, to avoid
confusion, and so both players know the order of the chain? (sounds reasonable to
me)

ANSWER:
While it would certainly be proper to do so, it hardly seems necessary since
the "Heart of the Underdog" that is step 2 of the chain will be the card you
draw first, and the "Heart of the Underdog" that is step 1 of the chain (and
therefore relevant for both copies firing off again) will be the card that you
draw second....

So, two HOTU on the field and POG in the draw Phase. Activate both and draw 2 cards, second card is a normal monster. Activate both again and draw 2 until second card is not a normal monster... Main Phase 1. Correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that the effect(s) of HOTU only care about the last card drawn in the chain, or Chain Link 1, in order to trigger a reactivation. Theory says if a deck consisted of these two spell cards and 38 normal monsters, you could start a loop and draw the whole deck (remember though, Exodia The Forbidden One is an effect monster).
