I recently added this card to my deck to test it out, I'm running 2 of them, using them as a replacemtn for corss out, since it's more versatile. But, there's a lot of good in this card. First off, when you play it, your oppponent loses a monster on the field, there's one effect. Next, he has to skip the card he WOULD have drawn to draw that monster again. There's two. next, if he wants to summon that monster again, he just wasted a turn pretty much, so that's 3. Add another point to it if you took out a tribute monster with it. Now they have to waste another card to use as tribute for the monster if they want to bring it out again. So at it's best, this card is a 1 for 4 effect, isn't that starting to seem a little..I dunno..broken? Still, even when taking out normal, 4 star monsters, you're getting 3 for one, so what's not to love about this card. If they have a fusion on the field, you can drop this on them and you end up giving them a dead draw with a monster they can't summon. Not only that, but it also works on your own monsters, so say you want to get your flip effect monster back, or your creature swapped / snatch stolen monster, you can draw it next turn. very versatile.
So what I would like to ask you guys is, would you consider running Back to Square One? And if so, try running it in your deck and see how it works out, I think this might be another one of those very rare truly useful commons that you see every few sets.

I'm pretty certain that the fusion will return to the regular Fusion deck, and not the top of the play deck.
Back to Square One is a nice card indeed, especially when you can nab a tribute monster. I tried it out in one of my overkill hand/field control decks, and it worked so nice with TIme Seals. I had someone once use it on me in conjunction with Mysterious Guard...now THAT hurt...
Normally, when Fusions are removed from the Field by an effect that would return them to the Hand or Deck, they get placed back on the Fusion deck instead, like Faucet said, so it wouldn't work against Fusions.
The other points were all good though, and I'm weighing it up at the minute for my Dragon Deck. Whenever I run Creature Swap in place of Book Of Moon, Nobleman loses it's effectiveness somewhat, so I'm on the lookout for a suitable replacement, and this could tide me over 'till Lightning Vortex comes along ^^

2 for 4, actually. You end up discarding a card to pay for Back to Square One's effect, right?
From my friend's testing, had he Nobleman of Crossout in his hand instead of Back to Square One, he would've done the same thing, as he ended up hitting a lot of face-down monsters with it. In fact, he'd rather see the f/d card leave. If you're hitting f/u with BtS1, then you'll need a monster to be able to stand up against that monster. This isn't easy to do in the instance of BtS1ing a Gorrilla.
Edit: BTW, xS A M U R A Ix, I beat that Phantom Brave game. As it turns out, no new game+ ;_;. But, like Disgaea, they have some kind of crazy leveling trick (This one is kinda strange in how it works too...). Whenever you're in the neighborhood for another 9000000 hour RPG, get it >_>
Back to Square One is a great Control Card...it really saves you twofold. It's better than simply bouncing to their hand...because it involves the next draw also. It's great esp. if you use it on a Trib Monster, and you know they are lacking any level4 or under.
Back to Square One doesn't have to be a 2 for 4 trade off...Don't forget Sinister Serpent....which virtually makes it a 2 for 2 trade off....just hope you won't need Sinister for something else (e.g. Tribe, Raigeki break, Magic Jammer etc).
Along with the Phoenix Feather Blast Card coming out in FET, this card can be very annoying. The above card is the same effect, but a trap. These cards are indeed very annoying and suprisingly good, and easier than hell to find. I've gotten two in some packs, and one in every pack I've opened.

Yeah, that is one problem, but hey, hopefully you WILL have a monster to play, but, I can see situations where other cards would be more useful. Still, late game when hands are thinning out, these could really hurt somebody. And reasoN id idn't consider pay was because if someone did run this, I'd HOPE they'd play sinister serpent or Night Assaillant along side it. Too much discard can hurt.
But yeah, my friend was telling me about the game the other day, and I think I might actually go get it. How many hours did you finally rack up?
And on back on subject, try comboing this with mind crush, that's when things could get really annoying. Get rid of that berserk, make them waste a draw phase, and then snatch it from their hand as soon as they draw it.

Yeah, he did run Sinister, no Night Assailant though. He didn't run into too many instances where he lost a card that wasn't Sinister, luckily though.

37, but, of course, I'm still playing. If no one has told you yet, there isn't a New Game+, but there are some missions after the main quest that may suprise you.

Taking advantage of its trap-ness as opposed to designator...not bad. Better than bouncing it then Mind Crushing it.
Jujutsu Master has an effect similar to BtS1. If you wanted to work a deck like that, you could try to run him.
Back to Square 1 also works nice with Drop Off, and discarding a night assailant to get a useful flip effect is good also. Drop off, in my opinion is a lot more effective when you know what your getting rid of. (BLS-E)
Hmm, good points guys. I was also thinking, you could run some zaloogs in a deck based around this, that way, you put the monster on top of their deck, and then use his discard 2 off the top effect to send it to the graveyard. It would be a really funny way to kill BLS. Also, he wouldn't be able be special summoned since he wouldn't have been summoned properly in the first place. So, maybe a deck with something like this..
Back to Square one
Compulsory Ejection Device
DD Designator
Mind Crush
Legendary Jujutsu Master
Don Zaloog
Drop Off
Mystic Knight of Jackal
Then throw in cards like..say-
Mystic Tomato + Mind on Air, to see the other cards in their hand, and to be able to abuse designator and Crush.
Forceful + Confiscation
And well, wow..this would be a very interesting deck to play. Extreme hand control. Throw in a few field control elements and it could actually be pretty dangerous.
