Blast Held By a Tribute is in my side deck and has been ever since mirror force was banned. In my opinion it's one of the most underrated trap cards in the game.
The HUGE problem with Blast Held by a Tribute is the fact that the monster actually has to be TRIBUTE SUMMONED in order for it to work and the ways people get out the tributes are usually done so with Special Summoned. V-Lord is usually done through Pyramid Turtle and The Creator done through The Creator Incarnate while Horus LV6, Airknight Parshath and other's are usually summoned through the graveyard or something. Ha Des isn't used THAT much really, not in my area anyways, and people usually summon Jinzo first, thus, shooting down Blast before it can do anything at all. And with the still rampant use of m/t removal, Blast won't really last that long. Not long enough for a tribute summoned monster anyways.
Netrep rules also
When your opponent attacks with a monster that you Tribute Summoned, and your opponent took control of, you can activate "Blast Held by a Tribute".
Monsters like "Tyrant Dragon" cannot negate the effect of "Blast Held by a Tribute".
In order to inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent, you must destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field first. So if you activate "Blast Held by a Tribute", and your opponent chains "Ring of Destruction" or "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" so that your opponent has no monsters to destroy, then "Blast Held by a Tribute" inflicts no damage.
Now just one sec... Blast says that the monster must be tributed or SET. Now that by itself shows that this card is better than at first glance. One of my favorite tatics is set Blast and Book.... There goes just about every monster in the game but a few( you really don't want me to list them, since we all know who they are). That transforms an underrated card, into the next mirror force, but if it wasn't for the whole tribute or set thing, it would be better than the mirror. That's my two cents.....

Still, they have to actually Declare An Attack with the monster. If they set the monster, that doesn't really do much for you and if you Book it when they attack, you just saved THAT monster from being destroyed so you won't do 1000 LP damage.
Well the best way to use it is probably to tribute summon a monster then play creature Swap and activate it when your opponent attacks with the monster
Book may stop one moster, but it was meant to. By playing book, you forced your opponent to flip summon it, which meets the requirements of blast. Next time they attack with that monster, blast can be activated against it. That's my strat against most special summon monsters if I wanted blast to kill them too. Of course, this is assuming that you survived that long.....
