Anyone have any ideas at all? I'm thinking about adding in 2 Zombrya the Darks so I can use Deck Desvastation Virus when it comes out next week. It's a thought, I may not follow through on it.
Trust me on this, I've run Dark Scorpion decks before, and if you want it to be succesful, you have to take the shell of a Warrior deck and alter it to fit the Dark Scorpion theme. Then, you can't use all the Scorpions, my advice is this: Use Don in 3's, 2 Meanaes, and then either Cliff or Burglars. Then you also want to run some field control, my advice is DDWL, but with her getting the restriction soon, the Scorpions get even harder to run.
The Scorpions really got shafted compared to other Archetype...*cough Gravekeepers cough* If only Konami had made their attacks just a little bit higher, if Don had been 1600, Cliff 1400, Meanae 1500, Burglars 1300, Chick 1200, and then Gorg level 4, they'd have worked out much better. They've got some of the best effects in the game, and they work really well in my experience if you can get them off like they need to.
But really, right now, they don't work all that well. If they're attack had been just a tad higher each, then with some more support cards that did something after they swarmed. But alas.
Konami did excellent with the Keepers, but afterwards tehy got lazy...XYZ's worked okay in a Machine Deck, Amazonesses could do fair in their own deck, and the Scorpions in a warrior field control deck can work wonders, but its nearly impossible to do.
How can GK's be so self-supporting and perfectly compliment each other so well...But...then they dropped the ball. God.
It sucks because the Scorpions are my favorite "team" archetype in the game, but they get no respect, but when they do work, they're incredibly, they just rape your opponent so incredibly well.
Nothing quite as fun as pecking at your opponent, killing their hand with Don, killing a Spell from their deck with Burglars, Cliff taking two cards off their deck, and then Meanae letting you get back a card or get a new card. And thats really an easy thing to do, and just imagine, with that move your opponent just lost 4 options from their available resources, and you gained card advantage with Meanae's effect. Not to mention that you just did 4600 damage.
But Scorpions have to be worked into a Warrior Field Control deck, and then bolstered quite a bit.
So:
Pick at most Don and 2 other Scorpion monsters, one of those other two has to be Meanae. Dump the rest, and do not use Gorg.
Do not use Dark Scorpion Combination, it will never happen.
You need a warrior field control deck to keep the opponent in check and get the game set up for your Scorpions to rape his deck and hand.
Good luck...sorry for going on a long dissertation on the Scorpions, btw.
