A general question,

I have two sword of deep-seated cards, both identical unlimted mrd-132, but one is a spell card and one is a magic card. All the one's I've viewed before are all magic cards, I was hoping to use the effect w/ Chiron the Mage. Is it legal to play the spell version of this card?

They are not misprints, all "Magic" cards were changed to "Spell" cards because of some big issue (I still don't know the exact story). Anyway, just look at magiccards from any of the newer sets and you will see they all say "Spell" instead of "Magic"

i believe they change the name to go along with the story of the cards sense the SPELL cards first apeared in magicians force. . get it . . spell. . magician. . .they go along with eachother

The term "Magic" was to inclined with Wizards of the Coast's game "Magic: The Gathering". To avoid legal precautions all "Magic" cards where changed to "Spell Cards".

For gameplay purposes there is no difference, Magic is Spell and Spell is Magic.
