Can you activate a Quick-Play spell the same turn you set it?
And can you can activate a Quick-Play Spell card from you hand in the battle phase?
Local judge said could only set then then activate it the turn you set ut and not activate it from the hand.
usually i'm trying to use My Body as a Shield to negate and destroy Mirror Force
Quick-Play spell cards may not be played during the same turn that it was set into your Spell/Trap zone. They take on the qualities of a trap card in this regard.
You may activate a quick-play spell card from your hand during any portion of your turn (provided that there is no particular timing involved) except the damage step (if it can modify the atk or def of a monster than it may be used).

THats what i tried to say to the judge, but i was ruled that i had to set and activate them in the turn to get it to work like that. i was thinking i held on to it and if opponet activates to my attack 'Mirror Force' then i play and chain 'My Body as a Shield' to negate and destroy mirror force, saving my monsters and allowing my attacks to go through.
=============================================== Spell / Trap Cards
Remember that Quick-Play Spell Cards & Trap Cards can be activated during the Battle Phase, but they cannot be activated during the Damage Step unless they specifically modify ATK or DEF ("Reinforcements", "Castle Walls", "Rush Recklessly", "Mirror Wall", "Limiter Removal", etc are OK and can be activated during the Damage Step. "Waboku", "Reverse Trap", "Mirror Force", "Magic Cylinder", "Imperial Order", etc. are not OK and cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)
(Emphasis Mine)

You can chain Quick-Play Spell Cards from your hand as long as it is during your turn.
Example #1:
Player A activates "Dark Hole."
Player B chains "Imperial Order."
Player A chains "Mystical Space Typhoon" from his/her hand.
Also, you can chain or play a Quick-Play Spell Card from your hand during any Phase of your turn, even during your Battle Phase. Activating/chaining/playing Quick-Play Spell Cards from your hand, during your turn, is not limited to Main Phase 1 or 2 and can occur in the Draw, Standby, Battle, and End Phases. Of course, you cannot activate a Quick-Play Spell Card from your hand during your opponent's turn.
You can also Set a Quick-Play Spell Card during your Main Phase 1 or 2. Once you Set a Quick-Play Spell Card, you cannot activate it that turn (similar to a Trap Card) but can activate it on any subsequent turn. (This rule does not apply to normal Spell Cards; you may Set "Raigeki" during your turn and still activate it that same turn).

They need to brush up on their stuff.
