I have asked this question on the Judge board, but my questions never seem to get posted, not sure why. If a judge knows the answer, please let me know, thanks.
Now onto the question:
If I summon Fusiller (ATk 1400), then set Skill Drain. On my opponent's turn, he activates Heavy Storm, can I then chain Skill Drain to bring Fusiller up to 280 ATK, and would he stay at 2800, now that Skill Drain is gone?
I'm thinking yet, I can chain and yes it will stay at 2800.
yes, it should stay at 2800. This is similar to if fusilier left the field somehow and came back or if it was placed face down somehow. Fusilier "forgets" that it was summoned from the hand the second that skill drain resolves.
you can even summon Fusilier from the hand without tribute and because of Skill Drain, Fusilier Dragon is at 2800 atk and will stay at then even if Skill drain is removed.
I understand both of those responses, thank you. But if Fusiller is summoned without Skill Drain on the field, he is 1400 atk....I just want to know if Skill Drain can be chained thus increasing Fusiller to 2800.....
Yes. Skill Drain can be chained. And as long as your opponent doesn't MST (Royal Decree, Phoenix Wing, etc) to get rid of that Skill Drain before it resolves in the chain the effect will resolve and re-set Fuselier before Heavy Storm resolves and removes it from the field.
That is correct. Skill Drain would resolve properly, causing the Fusilier Dragon to throw off its protective overcoating and boost its energy levels up to 2800. =)
