Seeing how we now know that one of the 2005 tins will contain Exarion Universe why not discuss peoples oppinions on how it will effect the current metagame?
Effect: You may activate this effect during your turn's Battle Phase. Reduce this card's ATK strength by 400, and if this card attacks a monster in Defense
position, and this monster's ATK is higher than the defense position monster's Defense, deal Batttle damage to your opponent equal to the difference. This
effect lasts only during the turn it is activated.
Before knowledge that this card was going to be included in the 2005 tins, Kevin had said that there was going to be 1 card in the tins that everyone would be using (or something to that sense). He was obviously not joking, because lets look at this cards stats for a second:
-1800 ATK Beatstick that'll stick it to almost any monster used in the current metagame aside from BLS and tributes.
-It's got a 1900 DEF that is basically an impenetrable wall against the widely popular Tsukuyomi as well as makes it a perfect counter against an Advanced Format full of Enemy Controller and Book of Moon.
-It's of a Dark attribute making it compatible with Chaos decks.
-It is the ONLY lv4 monster with an ATK higher than 1500 that can slip through the newly SideDeck staple card Messenger of Peace.
-Having a Beast-Warrior Sub-type makes it not only an awkward target for Tribe-Infecting Virus to hit in a group, but also makes it able to fit into a number of other decks aside from chaos.
-It's effect allows for it to become a 1400 trampler monster at will, absolutely murdering Scapegoats/Sinister Serpent/Spirit Reaper and making your opponent atleast loose some lifepoints for getting off Magician of Faith's effect.
-And lastly this card just looks so freakin cool!!
All of the above stats (maybe not the last one) make this monster more than superior to the increasingly popular Enraged Battle Ox.
I'm sure theres more that I've missed, and if there is plz feel free to add in a post, or to just comment on what's already been stated or on the card itself. I think this card will absolutely rule the Advanced Format, how about you?
I might test it out but it doesnt seem THAT good to me. It may stop some tsukuyomi/books/ECs but its DEF can still be ran over by GAF, GEF, Gaint Orc, Berserk, Flash Assailant, Zombrya, etc. IMO its not that good, but thats my opinion....

I agree with you that it is not an absolutely "BROKEN" card but you have to admit, how many times do you see any of those monsters mentioned (save Berserk Gorilla) in the top 8 of a big tournament event? No offense meant by this towards your oppinion by the way. Does anybody else have anymore oppinions towards this card?
Once this card is released, it is going to see a lot of play. It’s got a nice 1800 attack which means the only commonly played monsters that can take it down in a slugfest are Airknight Parshath, Berserk Gorilla, Slate Warrior, Jinzo and Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Beserk Gorilla has seen a decrease in play lately, so this could really fill the void and be a nice beatstick.
Obviously it’s a great Dark card for Chaos Decks. It’s also another Beast-Warrior with trample. Hitting a Scapegoat token for 1400 over flow is much better than just running into one to get rid of it.
If you use this card with Wild Nature’s Release, he can become a 3700 attacker, the highest possible for a Level 4 or lower monster thus far. When Exarion Universe is destroyed by Wild Nature’s Release’s effect you’ll have a Dark monster in your graveyard to help you summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning.
I think what really makes this card shine is it’s defense. A 1900 defense really helps to ward off most threats when this card is flipped face down by Book of Moon. Airknight Parshath will be stopped in his tracks.
Exarion Universe looks to be the best trample monster in the game, edging out Enraged Battle Ox, and leaving Spear Dragon in the dust. His Dark Type screams cookie cutter, so watch out for this guy when the tins are released.
Looks like once the tins come to my wal-mart, I'm gonna make good use of that discount.
lol what the heck does Iggy Z mean?
Anyway yeah I definetly agree with you Den Frenzy, this card looks to outshine all tramplers that came before it (maybe not Airknight). How many copies of this bad boy do you think people will be running? My best bet is at two.
the only thing I like about it really is it's cool pic. i would still rather use fairy metior crush, (lol, goats hate it when I do that they know what the next card I play will be (difusion Wave Motion)), but atleast they are closing the gap on the promos we don't have!! and thats always a good thing. wait, insperation in coming to me on how to use it in a deck, brb
Ok, time for me to weigh in. Obviously you guys think highly of this card. But if anybody was on the forum about the Cybernetic Revolution cards, then you may remember that a lot of people on there stated that we can't know how the cards will truly effect the game until they are released. With that in mind let's apply what we know about this card and about other cards similar to this card in both stats and situation.
We know he's a dark Monster. Only one other dark monster I know of that has been recently released that got overly hyped til people realized he was a side deck material for majority decks and thats D.D. Survivor. Just because he was dark, people thought, oh wow he can't be easily reomved and he feeds chaos. Then when they used him wrong, the first thing people said was "Side deck material"
We Know he has 1800 ATK. Again D.D. survivor falls in that same comparison. The only thing about this is that in this day and age of Chaos and CC, 1800 is 75% of the time more than enough. Since a lot of people run low level monsters to facilitate their needs to bring out bigger monsters, both D.D. Survivor and "Iggy Z"(that one was for you Agent) can easily keep their footing on the field.
We all know He has 1900 DEF. Only one other monster I know of that is level 4 and has a 1900 DEF and also has a good effect and thats Command Knight. She's been the hot bed of many an argument that claim her to be a good monster or a bad monster.(of my personal opinion I find her to be quite game breaking.) Sure they may not have the same effects and versitalities, but if your using Iggy for defense, then why not command knight as well.
We all know he's Beast warrior and can trample. So does Inraqed Battle Ox. A lot of you are saying Iggy is better, but is that really true? is giving up a high attack just to trample better than having it off the bat with a mediocre attack and giving it to others? A well done Analysis would say that both monsters are Equal. While Inraged is only 1700, he can give his effect to those that meet his conditions, and he also has it permanently. Iggy can hold his own with the high attack, but if need be can use the trample. Its more of a prioity thing with him:use it when its necessary.
In the end, I see this card seeing about a little more play than D.D. Survivor or Command Knight sees play. People will clamor for its effect, but the realize that he has needs that need fufilled in the deck. But we won't know that until he comes out will we.
The reason this will see play over Enraged Battle Ox is for the simple fact that it is a Dark monster. I agree, people will be playing this card like it's going out of style for the first few months after it's release. Then they will realize that it is a strong monster, but not quite as powerful as they thought it would be, and they'll start to cut down it's use to one per deck.
It just seems funny to me that people would say this card isn't very good. How many good beatstick monsters are out there? This and Breaker are two beatsticks with useful effects. So what if his attack is decreased by 400? How many people play monsters with over a 1500 defense? Some, but not many.
This is the card Kevin was refering to, no doubt about it.
I don't know what the big deal is. For practically every single card and set we always hype about the card or cards. Half the time we never use it at all! Can anyone say archfiends, fairys or the most overhyped card before it came out ever, Rope of Life?
It is played in Japan so it will be played here. It will be in most cookie cutter style decks and anti. Airknight is played for this reason and decks that it hurts play Airknight so it may very well become a staple in tourny winning decks, but only 1 or possibly 2 per deck.
This monster is, indeed very good and I speak from experience in using it.
Being a Dark main-type already gives it plenty of support like Mystic Plasma Zone, Witch's Apprentice (yes I said Witch's Apprentice), and such.
Being an Animalwarrior/Beastwarrior gives it more support now thanks to FET
A deck revolving around cards that make use of Reverse Trap makes this a very good card (RAISE it by 400 instead of lowering it, making it a 2200 trampler)
Though, knowing how narrowminded a majority of the Dueling population is (not naming any specific persons), it'll probably be tossed into Chaos decks for another good Dark monster or just simply tossed aside just because you have to lower its ATK by 400 to get the trample (I heard people go as far as saying "Just use Mad Sword Beast! It's just as good anyways!" )
