Ok when this card is played, and I pay 2000 life points, does it stay on the field or does it go to the graveyard? It has no infinity sign on it making it NOT a continuous spell card. So, I need to know if it stays on the field until the 20 turns is up or does it activate and go to the graveyard?
Also, if it is activated and sent to the graveyard, is there any way to stop it, or will the game be over in 20 turns no matter what?
The card does not stay on the field and it cannot be stopped. If neither the activation nor the effect are negated when you play it, then in twenty turns your opponent will lose. How you survive those twenty turns is up to you.

Once activated and resolved it goes to the graveyard. It does NOT stay on the field for the entire 20 turns.

The only way to stop it would be at it's inital activation. If it is not negated then, then 20 turns from then the controllers would win. The only way to prevent this is obviously to beat them before 20 turns has pasted.
Once Final Countdown Resolves Sucessfully it goes to the Graveyard. It does NOT stay on the field.
Once the Countdown has started there is no way of stopping it short of a win condition.
20 Turns have passed
Depletion of Life points down to 0
Deck out
Exodia
Destiny Board
You can speed up the count with Pyro Clock of Destiny. But there is no way to stop the countdown, Not IO, Not Spell Canceller, nothing can stop it if it resolves.
