i was dueling at a torny on saturday with my zombie deck. i had just did damage to my opp and called magic. and he asked wat type. i am a truthful guy so i question his thought on v lords effect. he said it was on the offical site that u could do that. so i played by his rules for that duel andwhen i got home i went ot the offical site and it was worded so u could take it both ways please help me out.

When Vampire Lord deals damage to your opponent, you declare 1 card type (monster, spell, or trap). Your opponent selects 1 card of that type from his/her deck and sends it to the graveyard. If you declare spell, it doesn't matter whether your opponent discards a ritual or normal spell card. If you declare trap, it doesn't matter whether your opponent discards a normal or counter trap card. Your opponent must discard 1 of the declared type of card you declared from his/her deck and that's it.
