1. Say I have 4 cards in attack mode on my field.... can i switch them all to defense in one turn?? (none of the monsters have attacked yet that turn)
2. Morphing jar #2..... if my jar is flipped and say my opponent has a red eyes b dragon on the field... is it sent to their deck and then my opponent hasta draw untill they get a four star and under monster? or do they only hafta draw if they monster returned to the deck is a lv4 and under monster. the wording on mj#2 is just plain confusing to me
1)If they had not attacked and had NOT been summoned that turn you may switch your monsters to face up defense mode.
2)no. Your opponent Had 1 monster on their field, Red Eyes. Morphing Jar#2 is flipped by Red Eye's Attack. MJ#2's effect kicks in.
Red Eyes is sent back to the owners deck. Since you have no other monster you return nothing to your deck. So you need not worry about picking up a monster.
Your opponent on the other hand must pick up cards till he reaches a monster card. It doesnt matter what level the monster is. So if he had 3 monsters returned to the deck, then he/she must pick up 3 monsters regardless of level. Now The next part is once they have picked up (Not Drawn) the same number of monsters returned to their deck. All monsters that are Level 4 and below are special summoned in Facedown Defense mode. Everything else, Spells, Traps, and Monsters Level 5 and higher are sent to the graveyard.
For Example I had 2 monsters Returned to my deck. I need to pick up 2 monsters.
In this order I pick up: Call of the Haunted, Serial Spell, Blue Eyes, and Gemini Elf. I stop at Gemini Elf because I have picked up the same number of monsters I returned to my deck, 2.
Gemini is special summoned facedown Def, while Call of the Haunted, Serial Spell and Blue eyes all Pass go and head straight to the graveyard.

1) You can turn as many monsters as u want 2 defense mode as long as they were not summoned, or flipped summoned that turn or attacked yet.
2)if they have red eyes then they do not draw because it says that u summon the same amount of lv 4 or lower monsters that u had on the field and red eyes is lv 7
FLIP: Return all Monster Cards on the field to their respective Decks and shuffle them. You and your opponent then pick up cards until you both have the same number of Monster Cards that were returned to each Deck. Special Summon the Level 4 or lower monsters to the field in face-down Defense Position. The rest of the cards picked up are discarded to the Graveyard.
I have a couple of questions related to his... and, yes, I'm a newbie too! Woot!
1) What's the advantage of face up defense mode vs. face down defense mode?
2) How many cards per turn can you flip from Attack Mode to face down defense mode? (I'm assuming you can flip from Attack mode to face down defense mode... since you can do the opposite face down defense to face up Attack... right?)

1) The advantage is that the monster can not be nobleman of crossout or its a defence. But, u can only summon a monster faceup attack or facedown defence unless the card was special summoned and the effect of the card that let u special summon it says u can put the monster in defence such as monster reborn.
2) Matters, only monsters that can go from face up attack to facedown defence are monsters with an effect that says it can be flipped face down such as swarm of scarabs or if u book of moon or use an effect to flip a monster f/d. But u cannont turn a faceup attack blue eyes or dark magician or something into face down defence without an effect making it.
2) ah... and the Medusa Worm has a flip effect so I can assume that it can be flipped face down the turn after it was flipped face up using it's effect and as long as it hasn't attacked in the turn that I plan to flip it down. correct?
I'm just really new to this game. I thought the Flip effect was what destroyed an opponents monster and not that it could be flipped back. I finally just bought a rule book so maybe that'll help me newbieness.

I guess that what's getting to you is the different types of flip effects, there basically 3:
1. FLIP: "insert text", this is the most common, this flip takes place when you flip SUMMON (manually that is) the monster, its attacked by an opponents monster or flipped face up by another cards effect.
2. When this card is FLIPPED SUMMONED: the effect of this monsters WILL ONLY apply when you FLIP SUMMON your monsters MANUALLY.
3. ....when this monster is flipped face-up: this types are very similar to the first group, just add that their effects unlike the first group are NOT negated with effects such as Ceasfire..........
