Anyway, the deck is looking to have great promise from the advice I've told you on AIM. It has a familiar feel of my own with some different card selections. Sadly the deck will probably need better Spell/Trap removal and not so much of the Monster Removal aspect. Sakuretsu Armor will still be more powerful than Bottomless Trap Hole. (I'd love to see people agrue that they stop Swarm decks completely...idiots.)
I would try taking out the D. D. Assailant (as those will take away from Dimension Magic use) for Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier. Now, being a spellcaster with a little bit of trample can help out greatly. =) I suggest you give them a shot or possibly tech in a Penguin Soldier for a gesture of annoyance. The problem with finding the last two monsters in a Magician deck is that they aren't that many stable monsters with a beefy attack that are level 4 and lower. Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier probably is the best choice from my research.
Another thing is you should post your Side Board for the deck. This is vital because with a Magician deck you can get weird offers or ones that you like but have covered with your side board. Keep in mind, people don't go around "studying" and "memorizing" people's side boards. That's a complete waste of time.
Another thing you need to keep in mind TLK is that Injection Fairy Lily is a waste! You aren't doing more damage than a Celtic Guardian with it and using it as a 'finisher' isn't that great of a tactic. You waste life points to end up doing only 1400 damage or less to them. What a waste. In some cases, if not most, you end up having less life points than your opponent. I would side it at best, but don't be surprised if you don't use it that much.
Magician's Circle ISN'T needed. Best deck for that is Gravekeeper's man. Sure it says "Magician" in the name but that doesn't mean it belongs in your Dark Magician deck. Test it out but the recommended number I give you is one. Try two, but it doesn't work as well as one.
Another neat card to try out is Monster Recovery. It can throw a Magician of Faith back into your deck or Breaker the Magical Warrior into your deck to reuse it. After all, it can help give you a fresh hand and you don't lose hardly a thing so it's worth a shot at trying.
Here are some other cards for you to try out TLK. =)
Jinzo
Royal Decree
Raigeki Break
Magic Drain
Dust Tornado
My Body as a Shield
Monster Recovery
Reload
Nobleman of Extermination
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
Mystic Swordsman Lv2
Airknight Parshath
Mobius the Frost Monarch
Solemn Judgment
Question
Messenger of Peace
Tkwiget went pretty in depth, I'm gonna be a little more to the point and make a couple more fixes as theres not a lot more I can say
Lets get some back row defense, shall we?
-Vindictive Old Magician
+1 Hand of Nepthys
+1 Sacred Phoenix of Nepthys
This brings the deck to 41, which is my usual number. I can't really see much else to take out, but I think since you have the apprentices anyways you shouldn't have much problem just throwing the phoenix in there. It's super easy to bring out, gives you MT destruction, field presence, and a beatsitck all in one giant chicken.
-2 Sakuretsu or Bottomless (I'd say bottomless)
+2 Dust Tornado or Royal Decreen (I'd say one and one, however I usually don't like to run singles)
-1 Confiscation
+1 Card Destruction
I find Card Destruction as a very efficient way to deck thin and eliminate opponents strategies at the same time. I really don't like confi, because in a meta plagued by beat sticks, life points are important. This can thin your deck and give you more options, so keep it in mind.
Test out Dark Magic Attack for a while. If you feel you set it as a bluff too much or it clogs your hand too often I'd suggest taking it out for Chiron the Mage (one of my personal favorites.) DMA is a better trade off (one for up to five) but Chiron can activate more consistantly and is a much better top-deck card.
twiggy, first off....THANKS! U DA MAN! lol. im testing and testing atm against other OCT1BAN deck and atm it goes toe to toe with the aggro deck of the "future". heres what im thinking:
i will take out 1 d.d. assailant
and add in gravekeeper's spear soldier
for testing.
confiscation is kind of...bleh for me. it just comes in the wrong time. ill test these:
- confiscation
+ question / my body as a shield / smashing ground / upstart(if i add this i have to cut sumtin coz running 1 sux)
Sacred Phoenix ISN'T needed in the deck. It can support it quite nicely but isn't needed really. That just makes it a Sacred Phoenix deck with a tad bit of focus on the Dark Magician stuff. This is a Dark Magician deck, not a Phoenix deck. Remember that. OVM is a key component in the deck and is FAR better than Exiled Force and Tribe-Infecting Virus.
Another thing is Confiscation is WAY better than Card Destruction. Do you really want him to be swarmed to death by Dark World (Dark Realms) decks? I doubt it, and Morphing Jar isn't a very viable card either considering that fact. However, both Cyber Jar and Morphing Jar are seeming to be more of a hassle IMO to use with the up coming deck types.
The thing about Question is that you have to have a powerful monster on the bottom of your Graveyard. If you add in cards like Tribute to the Doomed or Raigeki Break you can help aid that card in something called synergy and it plays well with Pot of Avarice which is in Elemental Energy.
Here's another list of cards you could possibly consider. =) Thank or hate me, it's what I've tested and plan on testing.
Ante
Double Spell
Wave-Motion Cannon
Tribute to the Doomed
White Magical Hat
Robbin' Goblin
Mirror Wall
Don Zaloog
Time Seal
Drop Off
Magic Cylinder
Magician's Circle (I have a gut feeling that I'm wrong about this card.)
King Tiger Wanghu (Side only)
Royal Oppression (Side only)
Bait Doll
Prohibition
Hidden Book of Spell
Horn of Heaven
Pot of Avarice
As for your own suggestion of replacing one DDA. How about trying two or three Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier with Robbin' Goblin and have Airknight mained. Just an idea and then you'd have to double or triple up on Dust Tornado if and when Royal Decree starts pouring into everyone's decks because of the Warrior Structure Deck. (Common Decree in that structure..)
