Can you tribute a face down monster for the spiritual arts. I'm guessing yes because of the ruling on face downs and metamorphisis but I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify the face-down and metamorphosis issue that you have. You MAY use it on YOUR face-down monster because YOU control it and YOU know what its value is. However, if it is your OPPONENT's monster that is face-down and you use soul exchange and try to tribute it, you CANNOT as you do not know what its number of stars is. And yes, if they choose to chain Book of Moon on it, it will turn it face-down and you will 'forget' how many stars it has.

will the effect work if i choose to tribute e-hero wildheart? will wildheart be tributed?

torriential is still activated... but wildheart stays.... does this trap card work the same way?

Read the Card. Elemental Hero Wildheart says This card is uneffected by the effect of Trap Cards. Tributing a monster for Kurogane is a cost, so of course you can.

I believe Wildheart would be tributed away since the tributing is a cost for the Arts. Similar to Horus LV 6 and Level Up.

Haha, I had to think about this for a bit. (I'm getting old)

Your Elemental Hero Wildheart is immune to the EFFECTS of trap cards. Which unfortunately does not protect him from the tributing part of Spiritual Earth Art-Kurogane, since that is a COST of activating that particular trap.

So, in my opinion, your E-Hero Wildheart will still be tributed since that is the cost in activating Spiritual Earth Art-Kurogane.

In simple terms, cost of cards is what you have to give up in order for the cards effect to activate. (ie, Life Points, Tribute, Discard, etc.... )
