If I run a Jowls of Dark Demise can the monster I take control of be used as tribute? Since the card text clearly states:

[FIEND/EFFECT]
FLIP: Take control of 1 monster on your opponent’s side of the field until the end of the turn that this card’s effect is activated. When the controlled monster attacks, it may attack your opponent’s Life Points directly.

* Attribute: Water
* Level: 2
* ATK (Attack Points): 200
* DEF (Defense Points): 100

If not is there something besides spell cards that would allow for this?

i believe you can sacrafice the monster you take. there' s no text that says you cant. usually as long as the card you use to take control of the monster with doesen't state that you cant sac the monster its a legal move. so go steal and sacrafice.

Just gotta remember that you won't be able to tribute the stolen monster if it's your opponent's turn unless you use some card that will tribute it away during that turn (like Spiritual Earth/Water/Fire/Wind Art or something)

Otherwise, Jowls is better used during your own turn

I suggested to my friend dark venom that jowls of dark demise ould be a excellent addition to cannon soldier lockdown as you can flip summon the low level jowls of dark demise even under gravity bind or level limit steal a opponents monster and tribute both cards to cannon soldier for some really mean damage.

could combine that further with dark room of nightmare if we had room.

800 damage per cannon soldier shot should quickly win games.
